I already mentioned this to you, but I just don't think he folds an ace. Once he raises the flop and checks back the turn, he's fairly showdown bound. That being said, there are definitely live players I would fire at here since I think some are capable of folding Ax, but I usually avoid that without a specific read.

I'd just fold the flop.

This will work every time you have the best hand. Except you never have the best hand here. Also, move up.

Wauw, I havent played live and I havent played alot of FR, but I want to be more active on this forum so here we go:

I would just check the flop, and go from there. But it is a tricky spot with no players who have the initiative, and no one is supposed to have hit that flop.

I'd never bet this flop, what is the purpose of the bet?

Please answer this one pygmyhero.

I thought perhaps you were protecting your hand but then i suppose the bet gives flush draws the right price to call, pushes out weaker hands and (obv) leaves you open to a raise Smile

He does have second pair, against weak live players, this is a value bet. After the raise you are correct he has an A 110% of the time. Id probably muck there.....

As played once we get to the river its a check.. hes not gonna fold now imo.

BTN peels loosely so I think I actually have value. Also he will respond honestly to my bet and I can play the hand accordingly. Would you favor a x/c?

obadonke, my bet might not be correct, but there are a few flaws with your logic.

First of all the fact that flush draws have odds to call when I bet is NOT a reason to not bet. They have the right price if I check as well (in that case they are getting infinite pot odds).

Also, when we bet there is always the possibility that we get raised. Why does that matter in THIS case?

Yeah my standard would be to c/c since most times the button will bet a high card board vs two blinds. I suppose if he is peeling quite light its fine but really, its AKx, he doesn't have that many loose peels I would think.

Okay, just wanted to make sure you weren't advocating folding. Smile I know what you're saying and your comment on the board texture is dead on. That said, I definitely think THIS individual will peel once with a lot of two card combos between the K and the x (so stuff like T9o, Q8o, etc). I should have probably tried to mention this a bit in mp OP but it's hard to balance that against giving away what I think the 'answer' is.

I am putting as much effort into my posts as I am into my a-game at the moment i.e. not enough.

wrt the raise I neglected to say "potentially bluff raised off the hand".

Anyhoo, the only bit I wanted to say was "please answer this one" (which you did Smile ) . The rest was filling. mindless banter to be fair Frown

Hey, I'm not trying to criticize. I'm just trying to point out some stuff that I disagree with. Here's an old Ed Miller post that may help you understand the flush draw situation a bit more.

Ok, thanks Pygmy. I was feeling a bit low yesterday.

Awesome link. OMG. I cant remember the title but I must have swallowed that "popular book on low-limit hold 'em of suspect quality" because I thought charging draws was accepted wisdom! I've even recently started to donk bet weak pairs on drawy boards.

Ooooooooooopppppsssss.
