Hey guys, here's a hand from my most recent trip:
10/20 Borgata 10 handed
Hero is 4 off the BTM with Q
Q
3 limps in front (1 fold), Hero raises, 1 fold, CO 3-bets, BTN takes 3 to the face no problem, SB and BB fold, 2 limpers call, 1 folds, Hero caps!, CO calls, BTN calls, 2 limpers call
Flop (22.5 SB): T
7
5
(5 players)
Checked to me, Hero bets, CO calls, BTN folds, UTG limper calls, other limper folds
Turn (12.75 BB): 2
(3 players)
Checked to me, Hero bets, CO calls, UTG limper calls
River (15.75 BB): 3
(3 players)
UTG donks...
I don't really need to give a read on CO - I mean, I would have bet a substantial sum that he has exactly AK here (hopefully not suited of trump). UTG is your normal loose passive bad live player - he is extremely likely to play a FD like this and not to be bluffing.
I suspect everyone will say this is a trivial call in a huge pot, but I really think we're not good here even 6% of the time.

I think if this is your read then go with it. I usually make these calls for sanity sake but I have made folds in large pots that are 100% exploitable and felt fine about it. Go ahead and fold.
Live I'm not sure, but online I'll see a goofy bluff here enough of the time.
If he touched his face and looked away real quick before betting I would fold and feel great about it.
Call!
If u are looking for arguments all I can say is: I HAVE SPOKEN!.
(I have no clue how these games play
)

When i looked through the hand I thought you wanted to know whether you could raise lol

Guys, of course this is a call 100% of the time online - that's not really relevant.
which, I am posting to get the opinions of other people - same as the reason anyone else posts. I have an opinion about what is best but I'm interested in what other people think.
If he touched his face and looked away real quick before betting I would fold and feel great about it.
Or if he twisted one of his oreo cookies open. Pyg, if you want to make hero folds, you should go play NL!
I kid, I kid, obvi. I haven't played enough live to really comment with authority, but I would certainly make the semi-crying call here getting 17-1, but I'm a showdown monkey. I mean, couldn't this also be a butchered JJ? I see bad LPs take a cc cc donk line as a LOL slowplay at times as well.
Pyg-
Like you said this is trivial online, and you have a really really strong read..
I remember folks getting on someone here (slide maybe) a little for the same type of "I just know, I am really sure" thinking.
Not trying to be mean, I really like your posts, but this seems so "read dependent" that ONLY you know.
I do not have much live experience (maybe 150 hour or so by now)but I agree that live is completely different in this way from online. Bart Hanson makes this point on "deuce plays" podcasts often. He mentions hand ranges vs betting patterns finishing up with:
"but guys...the villain really does not have a range here. There are really only two hands they can have that they play this way, so ranges are irrelevent."
again, enjoyed the hand, probably much more so than you

Hi which, first of all you,re assuming I folded - and while my post makes it clear I thought about it I did NOT reveal the result yet.
Your point about read-dependence is fair and though you have (probably) not played against this person you have likely faced someone similar and are familiar with the opponent type. Basing your reply on thone assumptions would be fine imo.
yeah this is a fold live. I wouldn't worry about the grandma exploiting you.
I just recently started playing live again and can completely empathize with your thoughts here. I think online loose passive players can surprise you once in a while and make a bluff or a strange value bet with worse here. I find that live loose passive players are pretty much locked into playing one way only, so if you have a strong read this can be an easy fold.
There are some players whom you could be getting 1,000 to 1 and it would be an easy fold.
I was sitting on Pygmy's right...so I don't want to give anything away.
Seeing this hand posted I think a fold is good. Closing the action, I think I call.
