Villain in this hand is virtually unknown

Is this any easy vbet on the river since all the draws missed? Or since he is unknown should I just check and take a note?

at my meagre .5/1 stakes I don't see many hands that raise us on the turn that we beat on the river - i.e. only air + 22,33. Usually this indicates a Qx, Tx, some medium pocket pair or better. Sticking around with 55 after the raise is pretty brave imo.

I would interpret the check as opp thinking "if I bet the river, what is opp going to call with? I'd rather check to induce. Hmmm, maybe I get to do a river sexy check-raise on this guy".

Equally, I wonder if you bet, what worse is going to call? Maybe A high?

YupI'm 100% with this. I can't think of anything to add.

Guys we beat every draw that chose to semibluff the turn! Diamonds, KJ, J9, and sometimes other straight draws / air. The problem is that I don't see any of those hands calling. Check back, see what he's up to, take a note.
