I really feel we need to lead out here. I mean, villain has checked back the flop in limped pots at least 3 times at this point and has generally been content to just check all the way down if he has nothing. We do have a note on him basically saying he can't be induced. I was actually somewhat surprised we were able to get the x/r in and I think we got a bit lucky.

Anyway, I think this would have been a good opportunity to discuss leading at pots in general (both for value and in other spots as a bluff) as I think there were numerous opportunities in the match.

Okay, I mean obviously it's pretty great that we make the straight flush on the river, but I really don't understand the turn raise. I think our equity is worse than most people might expect at first glance (not enough to fold of course) and I really don't see what better hands in our villain's 3b range we're targeting.

Edit: Nice fold at 52:10

You have 72o in the SB of t25 and Villain has t105 in the BB.

You're putting in t80 (t105 - t25 SB) to win t130 (t105 + t25 SB) = 1.625:1 = 38% equity needed.

Stove shows 72o having 34.5% equity vs. a random hand.

EV folding = t2870/t3000 = .957

EV if shove and win = t3000/t3000 = 1

EV if shove and lose = t2790/t3000 = .93

EV shoving = .345*(1-.957) - .655*(1-.93) = -0.031015

You should not be shoving ATC OTB with 2BB effective stacks unless you think Villain actually folds some hands.

this is a good spot for discussion forsure. I'm sad I didnt notice it at the time.

I'm always still a little lost in lead vs c/r spots in limped pots. I have some concrete ideas of what to do in some situations.. like when villains limp the worst 50% or whatever leading a double broadway board is always good.

but i never really know exactly whats going on in a spot like this. I think that leading is fine, and probably good as we get called by a lot of worse stuff.

I think this is something that I have changed my opinion on this a fair bit over the last while. against tight value oriented 3betters, i think passivity with draws ends up being more profitable because they fold so rarely, especially on this board.

TY for pointing this out, you're absolutely correct that i misspoke about the actual equity with how much we're putting in.

I think that even though its a slightly losing play equity-wise, i'm still happy to gamble with him, because winning Right Now is worth some amount of money to me. like doubling him up to 210 still puts us in single hand winning distance the following hand.
and at this point, getting the money in and seeing who wins, when we have all the chips, is going to be +ev when we get to do it a couple times vs random hands.

if we get it in with 35% equity twice FTW, we win 1/3 of the time the first time, and 1/3 of the time the second time.
we win the match over 1/2 the time even with 27o, and when we dont win worst case is that we have a 6-1 chip lead.

I dunno, i'll gamble all day there.
