Sounds a bit result oriented, the board is too drawn up, and your opponents had worst draws then you can imagine. Most of them will often have a Q or J with the other card possible pairing or giving them a runner flush draw. These hands will call. This time, these players likely had silly Ace hands or hands with an 8 and made an odd muck.

It\'s a good thought, but on this board you still probably want to protect your hand against the other players as they will have draws a lot of the time and since you will often have the all in guy beat, protecting the main pot is still the pressing issue I think. If you for some reason were very certain the all in guy had you beat (live this occurs frequently where a guy is happy as a clam and all in) then you could adjust to try and win money in the side pot, but the way this hand went you would really only maybe pick up a river bet as if you don\'t raise the flop the all in guy isn\'t all in until after his turn bet.

I don\'t have the exact hand details because I\'m at work, but basically the hand went down like this.

5/10 6max on FTP

I have QQ in the CO and raise two limpers and the BB calls. The UTG limper is very shortstacked and will be all-in by the turn if there is any betting.

The flop comes down KT9 rainbow, the BB checks and the UTG limper donks leaving himself $10 behind. The next limper calls, and I raise because my hand is often still best and I want to charge these guys for their draws, plus I figure that the limper might be stacking off with anything. The BB then folds, the UTG donker raises in his last $10 (3-betting) and the limper caught in between us folds. I call and he flips up K3s for TP.

My question is in this situation since I know that the shortstack is stacking off with any hand here should I slowdown on the flop in order to extract value from the other loose passives? I realized after I played the hand that if I hadn\'t raised the flop I probably would have picked up at least 1 BB from the other limp who likely whould have called me down with any pair. I guess I am trying to reconcile my two competing objectives here. Once I know that I have one player committed to the hand regardless, is it correct to take the line to extract maximum value from the other player, or should I simply continue to play it as normal and fire away.

I know that this situation is somewhat trivial as it rarely occurrs, but I found it interesting at the table and wondered after the fact if I cost myself two bets by raising the flop with the second best hand in a situation where the second best hand could win a side pot.

yeah that is what I figured. You and DD pretty much summed up what I was thinking at the time, I just wanted a checkup to make sure it was correct. I guess I should ask if my flop raise is correct in that situation considering I have a guy who might be stacking off and a LP in between us.
