Hello all.
Havent posted for a while and currently reviwing some hands.
decided to take a change and post a hand I think I played well with street by street explanations
BB is 35/15/12/1.3 (vpip/pfr/3b/Agg)
6players
Pre Flop: (1.5 SB) Hero is BTN with 9
Q
3 folds, Hero raises, 1 fold, BB calls
Standard open from BTN
Flop: (4.5 SB) 2
K
T
(2 players)
BB bets, Hero raises, BB calls
this is a little more aggro than I usually am, once the BB donk I pin him on kings, maybe tens but I raised to try and build a big pot on dry board
Turn: (4.25 BB) 4
(2 players)
BB bets, Hero raises, BB calls
this is a good card for my hand and I dont think it changes matter for the villain, when he donks I raise as i have just improve to a very strong draw
River: (8.25 BB) 6
(2 players)
BB checks, Hero bets, BB calls
Self explanatary, I suspected that the villain would have fold if bet too after he had checked. He didnt though and showed down his TP
Was I too aggro on the flop and the Turn. I know not alot of bets went in but this hand stuck in my head

mathfreak,
Unfortunately, none of the reasons you've listed for raising are valid right now. There are two main reasons to raise:
1) Because we have the best hand, and we want more money in the pot.
2) Because we don't have the best hand, and we want someone to fold.
In this case, we've got enough equity to call against a range of TP/2P hands, but not by a lot. The pot is small, and we don't want it to be bigger, because bigger pots make it harder for us to fold marginal and dominated draws. This isn't the sort of hand where you have an equity edge on the flop, so raising is poor, at least for the stated reasons.
On the turn, raising is even worse. He's announced he has a hand that isn't folding and you have queen high. Don't try to make him fold, and don't pretend that your equity has improved much. You definitely don't have > 50% of it.
On the river, the hand plays itself.
