Villain is a good Lag/Tag regular in the games. I'd estimate his opening range to be about 60% in the SB. I'm not sure if we should be peeling this flop. On one hand, we have more than enough equity to continue past the flop, but on the other I think we're often stuck calling 2 or 3 bets when just about every turn/river combo is unpleasant.

I'd 3 bet pre, he will make FTOP mistakes against your hand and equity is fine. I'd never fold here though clearly we re-evaluate on turn/river combos.

i 3bet pre, but given that you didn't i would just call and see a turn card. the hand hasn't really started yet in a way

Im not sure why both DD and BBB tips on 3b pre.

I see it has some merits 3betting low PP BBvSB but it has also some merits just flatting them and playing passively. I agree with DD he will make many mistakes playing in a 3b pot. He will double barrel (erroneusly) a lot also in these 2/4 games. So I see some merit in playing flop passively and keeping some made hands in our preflop range

So please, could you ellaborate a bit more on 3betting low PP pre?

BTW, as played, I see an easy peel and I dont think I would fold a lot of turns tbh.

I mean I think my reasoning was pretty simple but important, villain will make FTOP mistakes vs our hand. Small pairs are pretty bad because they are a coin flip against almost any two trashy cards, so if you can win a small pot early that is best. Letting villain barrel off is fine but I'd rather do it when I have some sort of ace high since then I can randomly improve the times I am behind and spike (either an ace or my kicker) but if we are behind with the small pair we are dead to two outs and calling down without really knowing much about villain's hand / range at all.

What does FTOP mean? I can't help but think of FTOPS.

Fundamental Theorem of Poker? David Sklansky coined the term I think?

In this case, I think it basically means villain will be folding a lot of the time incorrectly when he has odds to continue against our exact hand.
