villain in this hand has been playing fairly tight, she is a middle aged asian woman, who seems to be friendly and know all the players at the table. no other info on her other than i haven't really seen her play any hands in the first hour that i can remember

Hmm, if the villain is pretty tight and passive, you're usually not getting raised on the turn with less than two pair. Given the fact she is tight, limped utg, and that's a scary board, the only two hands I can see you beating here are KJ and AQ.
I know live poker is frustrating, but man I really hate telling you to bet/fold everytime. I hope somebody corrects my thought processes (and that you also scooped a few pots during this session!).

yeah i guess i just like checking to see what happens -- we can get info from the other players' actions before it gets back to us. we might also induce a bet from a hopeless hand whereas if we bet then that hand would fold
if i checked and there were only one bet back to me, yeah i would check/call and re-evaluate the turn
