7-handed. The semi-manical guy and his calling station girlfriend are away from the table - his presence has made the game much higher variance for everyone.

Villain 1 in this hand has been fairly tight preflop, initial reaction is that he is at least a semi-thinking player.

Villain 2 has been tangled up in the maniac's preflop aggression, often losing on the river with the "best" starting hands. So far, he has been fairly straightforward preflop by raising with decent holdings.

1 fold, villain#1 raises, 1 fold, villain#2 calls, 2 folds, i 3bet ADiamondKDiamond from BB, 2 calls.

Flop: QDiamondJHeart 6Spade (small non straight card), 9.5 small bets
I bet, 2 callers.
I've been cbetting anything i've raised preflop at 2/4 and 4/8 vs 1 or 2 opponents -- I'm not sure it's doing anything for me except increasing my variance a lot.

Turn: QHeart 6.5BB
I check, villain #1 checks, villain #2 bets, I call, villain #1 folds.

I didn't really expect villain #1 to fold, maybe he thought i had at least a pair and he was behind? idk. I usually wouldn't expect villain #2 to bet w/o a Q, but he's kinda aggro so maybe he could have a AJ/KJ/pair type of hand.

River: KSpade 8.5BB
I check, villain bets, call cuz the pot is large?

Fold turn, call river as played. Quit playing 2/4 limit in casinos.

No, don't fold turn to potential 10 outs. Yes, hugely discount anything, but the 4 straight outs, but still... don't fold turn getting 7.5:1.

Absolutely never fold the river, I thought the question when reading the thread would be more like "donk for value? or just call?" and then some spazz would say c/r Poke Tongue

I hope you were drinking because 2/4 live rake can be brutal, but can be offset if your drinks are comped Grin

Except that you can expect to have to call a river bet also, so when you call the turn you are commiting $12, not just six so think of it as 3.75:1, or even if you think he'll check the river some % of the time, maybe estimate it as 4.5:1.

Er? Call turn + call river = $8 by my count. Are you thinking of bet/calling the river = $12 ?

Uh, no we don't have to call a river bet if a blank comes.
If you are going to think about two streets then you need to think about implied odds, if we DO hit, for example.

Bet the turn. Its unlikely either player has a Q so its unlikely you will get raised. By betting you can get anybody with AT to fold which would clean up your K outs. You may also be able to get someone off a pocket pair they peeled with but will now fold since you have repped a big hand. Sometimes you can get another AK to fold (they don't always cap pre). Obviously they may not fold these hands but if you are intending on calling a turn bet anyway your money goes in much better by betting.

As played call the river.
