Okay normaly i would post this into the vegas forums but since they are so 2010 and more thought for the wsop i open one up here.
i am in vegas for the last two weeks in march and just wanted to know if someone has alrady experience with lower limit LHE.
staying in the stratosphere but due to car and monorail or so i am able to get around quite well.
online i am on the verge of 1/2 to 2/4 and offline well funded to play out of my online bankroll. i guess the skill of mine should be enough to stay ahead of the 2/4 tables and get into some 3/6 action +
just wanted to know if someone can give an opinion for the best room to play LHE in.
I think about playing
stratosphere ( course i sleept there and its short ) 2/4
cesars 3/6
mirage 3/6
venetian 4/8
aria 4/8
games are choosen due to limits in the casino. i guess that the 4/8 will be soft course it is the smallest limit and they do have higher limits offering for the more funded players. cesars and mirage i had good experience the last time ( 2years ago ).
So now its getting confusing - your thoughts?
thx already

I haven't been to Vegas in 2 years, but if you are good enough to beat 2/4 online you will be good enough to beat at least 15/30 at Bellagio. Just get ready for a table full of loose passives.
As for the best casino to play at, I'm not sure. I have played at Mirage (back when they had 10/20 and 20/40 lhe) and the Venetian and both were nice. Others probably can help you out with where to play.

I didn't play Limit at the Stratosphere, but the NL games were amazingly soft... it's the convention centre end of the strip. most of the games down there are good even for a spaz like me.
PS, I liked the Stratosphere... nice place. and the monorail is great.

Pretty much this. Play as high as you can afford, because the rake at live SSLHE is astronomical. Add in the cost of tips and I'd be shocked if 2/4 was even beatable in an average room.

Also you will be so overcome with a combination of tilt and boredom that you will want to die.

We say this kind of advice (play as high as you can) and i agree that it is true, but for most people actually playing just small stakes, playing double their normal stake (or more) is a big deal.
4/8 is fine, and if you're not trying to make your fortune, its a good place to start.
based on my experience from last summer, i would recommend the Venetian. It is a really great poker room, the rake is low, and gets lower if the table gets short handed (like $1 5handed - awesome!) I only played the 8/16 game, but the games are good.
The nice thing about the casino is that they have tournaments running, if thats your thing ever, and if you run good or are feeling up to it, the 8/16 game is right there and is absolutely profitable.
Best of luck, and if you have more live poker questions, ask them, I'm not an expert, but would like to know more as well!
also, try to write down or remember interesting hands and post them on the forum, live poker hands are fun - also watch PH's live LHE series for prep!

this is perhaps a good point to springboard off of to talk about bankroll. I think it's really important for people to not get tied down to rolls when thinking about playing live on vacation. Obviously, gamble what you're comfortable losing, but I was talking to a guy in december at the venetian and he said it took him nearly a year of playing online before he had the $5k he needed to sit at 1/2NL.
I felt overrolled for the game with a grand in my pocket, even though at the same time I had less than $600 online in my "bankroll."
Comfort and preference should always trump rules, but I do think it's worth remembering that in general, your real winrate at a live game is likely to be higher and the variance lower, even though it may seem like death by a thousand cuts when you're running bad and only getting in 30 hands/hour.
Soft live games are an awesome chance to play a lot bigger than many of us would ever have a shot at online. And always remember, your real bankroll is whatever you're willing to put on the table.

Venetian had a list going for 4/8 and 8/16 mixed games as well, in early dec. Don't think it got going, but I was playing there mostly in the afternoons during weekdays.
Definitely get the cards, especially for Caesar's. It will generate points at any Harrah's property.

Im from germany and flying over so i make that trip maybe once a year or every two years.
so if the question becomes if i get short term benefits with it

Just want to quickly jump in that the Bellagio recently changed their limits. It is now 10/20, 20/40 and 40/80. The 20/40 has got to be the cheapest 20/40 in the country as it is only raked at 5$/half hour.
When I was there, it wasn't that good though. What happened, is that some 30/60 regulars rather moved down to 20/40 than up to 40/80. Played like a typical 3/6 FR game online, which nowadays aren't that good either. Still money to be made, one huge fish, two or three meh's and 4 ok players. Have heard the 10/20 is quite nice, though
I would also caution OP against playing 2/4. While you will get "free" (1$ tip) drinks and get a decent value for your money that way, the rake is quite high, so that it will be hard making much if any money at all at those games. There are some people that say the same about the 3/6, but I don't know.

okay just got back from 2weeks of vegas.
was daily in the bellagio and started of with 1day of 4/8... rakewise cant say much would still say the game is easy and smooth. made 375$ in around 5hours and decided to move up.
played for around 10days 10/20 for around 6-12hours a day. and if you beat .5/1sh lhe online you beat 10/20 in the bellagio. there are quite a few regs but after 3 days or so you know them. some young guns ( maybe 5 but none of them is a very good player ) i just moved up to 3/6 and 5/T online and would honestly say that folding wasnt in their game. okay against most of the fish i understand but the regs are not good in making tough folds.
as said maybe 4-5 young regs maybe better 2/4 online players but nothing more. some older guys funny and maybe the skill on 1/2 online. and a lot and by lot i mean a lot of guys and girls who play just awefully bad !
i am now 26 and beside the 5others i mentioned before i was far out the youngest ! unreal i guess the avg. random villain was 45+ and weak/passiv . lots of coldcalling
so if your used to hanging around and choosing your startinghands wisely and be able to fold for an hour if it is needed to be +ev you can beat this game easy.
so for my 2cents about LHE in vegas. havent played it anywhere else than in the bellagio
20/40 i played for 1 night. was a bit tougher but still good on weekends !!!! but i guess 10/20 i made a better hourly
