I'm really late to the party....

I am noticing here, danzasmack, that you are checking the autofold button in the small blind with weak hands (e.g. 5Heart4Diamond at 7:18). Granted that there are going to be some hands that we aren't going to want to play even in a blind battle, but I am wondering about the possible information leak from autofolding.

I have been taking notes on players who autofold their blinds when the action is folded to the button. I think that it shows that their blinds are more easily stolen than average. It's especially noteworthy from the big blind (who ought to be prepared to play quite a lot of hands in blind battles), but I think it is significant from the small blind, too.

Likewise, I make a point not to autofold in the blinds, unless action early enough in the hand makes it clear that my holding just isn't playable, so as not to leak this tiny bit of information to players who may take note.

Is this something to which I should be continuing to pay attention? Or am I just being like those roulette players who track trends in how often Red or Black comes up?

It's worth paying attention to players who autofold preflop, yes. However, it isn't worth weighting unless you see it happen several times. 54o, for example, is a fold in the SB 100% of the time in games with this high of a rake structure. The same would be true with 72o. However, if you notice someone auto-fold multiple times in a row, it's probably more of a sign that they're "looking for a better spot" and you can take advantage of that.

All auto-folding does is say "I'm not playing 100% of hands." You can make some inferences from it, and I'd caution against doing many things "automatically" (you need to teach yourself to evaluate each decision and each situation), but sometimes there are more than acceptable reasons for clicking auto-fold.
