Trying to get back in the swing of things after laying low for a while... Any help would be great. UTG is the target here and is 74/48/1. SB is unknown. The only street I got right was the turn, imo.

yay a strategy post! seems like a good spot to post again after a long hiatus. hey sweetjazz someone is listening to u, more strat, less drama plz!
any reads on BB? i think preflop is absolutely fine.
flop looks like a 3bet to me, you should have the best hand here quite often, it's pretty unlikely that anyone has u completely crushed, and i think the hand plays better that way (imo this might be one of the spots where "taking control of the hand" is actually worth something).
turn isn't very interesting if you're only asking what to do (turn toppest two, raise ldo). sb's line pretty much turns his hand face up as a draw, bb prolly just bet sth very marginal (wtf could he be bet/folding here? sth like 77), and utg happily is happily calling along with whatever crap a 74/48/1 has here.
on the river u're always beating sb, and utg donks, so it's just an obvious call even if it feels like he "always" has a 4, cuz you're getting 17:1 ldo.

I'm glad you mentioned the flop play here, fnupple. After I hit the call button I was wondering if this was a spot to raise so It's comforting to hear I was at least thinking correctly.
I agree the turn is super standard also. The river....meh, I actually raised and was shown the mighty 43o. I had history against UTG And have seen him bluff draws on river before but it still felt Linda mistake to raise here.
Thanks for replying

one reason not to raise beside the obvious extra bet when you are wrong is that sometimes with a big pot like this you might get an overcall from the SB. I admit it looks like he is folding though, but no harm in trying.
Plus if he IS bluffing, then he would not call a raise anyway right?

exactly. there's actually a nonzero chance SB could make a bad overcall with like A5dd, and there's no point in raising to make SB fold better since we're always beating him.
OTOH i don't think we're beating UTG's bet/calling range here (he's clearly repping a 4, isn't he?), so raising for value seems bad. if you have enough history with him that leads you think that he's actually bet/calling something silly here, that's obv another story.
