I posted in the Google thread. My opinions are never popular, but someone had to say it.

Never be afraid to give an honest opinion!

A DC founder once said that "radical transparancy" was something that they lived by. So certainly pointing out areas that are perceived to be weak would be an act received with gratitude?!

fnupp?

I get that its HU, but anything else made you call down? If it is simply read based, fine, but if it has anything to do with board texture, care to enlighten the great unwashed?

My guess is that Fnupp put him on a good chunk of his range being missed wheel draws, and some airballs.

It's been almost 2 years since my last dental appointment, and I'd like to get a quick cleaning/check up. The problem is that I currently do not have dental coverage, and I live very far away from my previous dentist.

Does anyone have any advice for selecting a new dentist? Since I'll be a new patient, am I going to have to get X-Rays and all that nonsense? Or can I just get a cleaning? Any idea on the out of pocket cost of these services?

Many thanks!

KC--

as far as new doctors/dentists...

If you have no insurance, ask them about a 'cash plan'. Many will discount their services knowing you have no insurance. Doctors will discount much more, since fewer have dental insurance, but worth asking.

this really depends on where you live, but in Canada you can certainly go to the dentist and Only get a cleaning, the xrays etc are likely able to be shipped to a new dentist, but if they havent been updated, its probably going to be the case that they will need to be.

Another option could be to see if there is a college/university with a dental hygienist program. You can get your cleaning done there, under the supervision of a teacher, for 1/2 the cost of less of getting done at the dentists office.

as for cost, again this is in Canada, so i have no idea what it is anywhere else, but I have medical, but the bill that they gave me to send into the extended medical place had my cleaning, xray, floride, check up, etc etc at ~$200
