Rob I have a conceptual question from this video. You probably won't remember the exact opponents but I don't think it will matter. If it helps though the question I have concerns the table lineup that is shown in the video post screen shot and in particular the player on your left, spourgitis.

He was playing around 50/7, which rose to about 60/8 by the end of the session. He seemed very happy to limp many many hands, whether it be for an open limp or an overlimp. However, when facing a raise he seemed to be incited to re-raise. This happened on a couple of occasions, including at least one cold cap against korvgubbe's open and your 3-bet.

I choose the wording 'incited to re-raise' intentionally as it seemed he did this more to punish the raiser for denying him a limping opportunity than because it was justified by his hand values (and by your commentary it is obvious you were suspicious of his range as well).

So...here's my question.

After this trend was established you ended up folding a mid suited connector UTG, stating that you would sometimes open raise it (shania, etc. etc.) but that you thought it was a fold with this lineup. What I'm wondering is if this is a spot where you feel an argument could be made for open limping. spourgitis was practically guaranteed to overlimp, which would have encouraged others to limp.

I realize from our discussion about implied odds hands that you may feel a hand like 87s may just be too weak, in which case, are there any IO hands you would start open limping in this sort of situation? Or is the chance of multiway action just too low and your position too poor to justify this sort of strategy?

I expect this situation to come up basically never in SH online games, but I am still interested in it on a conceptual level because some discussion may benefit my overall understanding of poker theory and game dynamics.
