Turn and river are pretty bad cards for him. I doubt there is value in a bet because he should be cf'ing A high
I think it is close. I think a lot of time the villian is checking here with a made hand either because he is convinced he might be beat, but doesn't want to bet/fold, or is trying to induce a bluff from you. If he is inducing it is probably with a made hand not Ace high.
I check.
By the way, I didn't mean to respond directly to Oinks post, I just pressed the wrong button.

I agree with oink, the only hand you could possibly be getting value from is ace high, and hes probably not going to call with that because every possible draw got a piece by the river (another reason why you shouldn't thin value bet yourself).

Villain tanked and folded..
Three questions:
1. You think Villain ever folds a better hand? (like 44-88, A6?)
2. Which hands that have me beat do you think he may c/c rather than b/c with? (again 44-88, A6, perhaps KT?)
3. Which hands could I get value from? (AK, AQ?)

1) I used to think so, but I doubt it now.
2) Tx and down MIGHT not bet.
3) yes
22 is a very hard hand to play UI, all overcards.

In the moment I'd probably check feeling that there is likely verrrry thin value at best and that it could easily be outweighed by getting to see what hand he's playing like this.
jay, I think what he'd do with 88-44 may be an important part of this problem, but no one in this thread can give you the answer (i.e. we need a read, which we don't have but can begin to get by making him show his cards).
