Villain is a loose passive with stats of 44/2. I dont really think he is the type to spaz out and bluff raise river (or raise a worse spade) , but when you are playing against unknown fish, you never know....

So what are you for here. A call or a river fold?

I doubt the villian is raising with a worse spade. This would mean he CC a preflop raise with a hand that had the 8s or less and then and then stuck around and decided to raise on this board.

If your read is correct and this guy is passive then this is an easy fold. He could have a fullboat as well.

In fact, this would be a fold against most players who weren't overaggressive or tricky.

I never fold here vs donks. Sure you lose way more often than you win but plz remember that you can lose this 10 times for each time you win and still show a profit.

Sometimes you will even see Jx no spade here as terrible as that may sound. Making hero folds in big pots vs donks is usually NOT an option. Donks are the most likely to do something spazzy and irrational. Id much rather fold vs a 22/19 ABC 2+2 type here.

i agree with oink...pot 2 big to fold...and you will not be always behind...and sometimes paying of in this situations is also an investment in future decisions on similar boards vs the villian

I would agree with you here - but this is a river raise and not a donk, which changes the situation significantly since the villain is a a loose passive and I would see villain calling a ton more than raising.
His raising range here on the river is super tight (though he may be raising the 8s or 7s who knows (but im not sure he is capable of that)

When I said donk I meant "donkey" as in fish and not a donk bet.

agree with not folding gang.

And I truly believe that you are good atleast 10% of the times. Sometimes LP guys at these stackes likes to bluff raise scary rivers, I would even call here with a non Spade TP.

1) from villains perspective, this is a good spot to river bluff, even a J might fold here.
and we are considering folding a made flush.

2) I think you might be folding way too much on the river if you are considering folding here.
it might help you to, try to get to SD more. your marginal hands are winners more than you think IMO.
