I finally grinded my BR to 2k and played 300 hands of 2/4 today. Yippiee!!! Thanks to everyone! In september I had $300 and no confidence. Turning point for me was RLMLGseason2.
Thanks to Robs excellent commentary (Thanks a lot man!!!! U rock!) I finally got rid of my nitty pf style. I run at 33/22 after 15k hands of 1/2, compared to 21/14 or something like that earlier. This has been huge for my overall game since I now always want to get into the pot and fight. I also feel a lot more confident in sticky spots, because I run into them all the time
.
Anyway here's a hand from todays session. Villains pretty much unknowns. At 1/2 that flop donk usually meant a draw in my experience. Using the A as a scare card they try to put pressure on the raiser. Do you guys share that read? Given that is the raise ok? I think I can get a small PP to fold, or at least a six outer like 87.

The problem with this is that against unknowns it is hard to know how they will respond to your raise. The other problem is that you are going to have to bet again on the turn and even then I am not sure any pocket pair will fold. If this guy is betting a 3 or a 5 many times it will be accompanied by an Ace. If he had a middle pocket pair he may have raised preflop(I suppose this polarizes his range between an Ace and draws/bluffs). If he is betting a draw he may 3 bet. I think I would prefer a better read before I raise here but I am not completely against it.
All that being said, this looks like a peel situation so putting in extra bet wouldn't be horrible and could be good if your opponent lets you see a free showdown.
Congratulations on your success in building up your bankroll.

Umm I think the flop is a peel more than a raise.
People hate folding pairs, and I think even with a triple barrel they might not fold a pair.
Also the fact that villain could have an ace here aswell. People do donk with Ax here. I think his range on the flop is {pairs, and draws} and by raising the flop we are commiting ourselves to barreling, which I personally do not like.
So yeah I like call and possible a call on turn (though Im more apt to fold turn if he donks again)
Just noticed the flop is 3 way so I think you should give this more respoect than if it was HU.

i think it's call > fold > raise
the pot is decent sized, a lot of turn cards are nice for our hand, and i don't think we're ahead very often, and by just calling we are more likely to keep the other guy in behind us, giving us better odds
without Kh i think folding flop is fine

Looking back at this the only reason I could think see raising is to get a free card to the river, which might be decent, however I think the times you get a 3bet/lead or a call/leadmay make raising still bad in comparison to just calling.

Yeah if you wanna continue on this flop I think calling will do the trick. Not a lot of hands that the guy behind you calls for 1 bet but folds two bets with. It would be different on a board that had plenty of possible overcard holdings.
All that said I think (gosh Oink says fold again?) folding is fine. You can beat 2/4 without winning every pot you know?
