I'm in, any chance we can move the draft either earlier in the afternoon or later in the evening, if it's a hassle I will just deal Smile

I'm in Europe. So that time is already 10pm my time. I can do a couple of hours either way.

I'm in for 50. PPR is cool with me. I'm also not really a fan of the .25 pts per carry, but if everyone else agrees that's fine. How are we planning on dealing with the money?

I managed to join. Having Points per Carry seems to over value RBs?

its .25 pts per carry and 1 pt per reception. an average starting RB gets 12-28 carries a game roughly which would be 3-7 pts from carries. an average starting WR gets 3-10 catches a game roughly which would be 3-10 pts from catches. QBs generally get roughly16-32 completions per game which is 4-8 pts from completions. As you can see all of the 'touches' pts sort of balance out.

The reason I like to include carry points etc is to reduce variance. TDs are the ultimate variance. In a low-scoring, defensive game, a team's starting RB might carry it 24 times for 85 yds and lead his team to victory by grinding out first downs and eating clock. However in tradition fantasy this is merely an 8.5 point game which is pretty bad. That is the same amount a backup who runs 2 carries for 15 yds and gets a goal line touchdown would net - 8.5 pts. Similarly, for wide receivers a nice possession receiver can get 8 catches for 68 yds and move the chains, but has a low chance of getting in the end zone. However, with PPR receivers and tight ends can have value without being big-play receivers. As well this helps 3rd down RB types like Reggie Bush who are sort of hybrid players.

Let me guys know what you think.

Draft time has been moved 30 minutes earlier as per TazUltimate's request. Any earlier seems like it would disrupt other people.

Draft Time is now 5 PM EST (17:00) and it is a Live Draft!

Personally I'm not a fan of points per carry as I think it massively favours those with the 3 down running backs. I always believed the point of PPR was too even up the disparity between WRs and RBs (as RBs usually get more yards and TDs than WRs and as a result adding PPC negates the point of PPR. You might as well just reduce the PPR tahn add PPC.

Are we randomly generating the draft order? Or will this be determined in advance?

It will be randomly generated 30 minutes before the draft time.

Due to feedback I have removed pts per carry and completion, and I will be making receptions .5 pts each - this good for everyone?

I'm not even sure if we have much left for shipping, but I'll see if there's anything once the season wraps up.

I know it's also pretty obvious, but I also need to post that this isn't an "official" DC fantasy football league and is in no way sponsored or endorsed by DeucesCracked.

That's out of the way now, time for the draft! Grin
