Hi DeucesCracked

I together with a colleague will be launching a project from the 1st of September called The Poker Camp. The project has already recieved a ton of publicity here in Denmark where it will take place, and a lot of people have applied for it.

About a month ago me and my friend Anders, who is also a professionel pokerplayer, wrote a post on the danish forum Pokernet.dk where we told the poker community in Denmark about it.

Because of the huge interest there have been in the project we have decided to now also post here on Deucescracked providing an opportunity for more applicants. We already have two applicants, one from Norway and one from England who are moving permanently to Denmark to participate in the project.

Below you will find a describtion of what it is all about and information about how to apply for it:

The Poker Camp

After an intense investigation into world class athletes the world over, looking into what has given them the edge and allowed them to achieve world class success. We are now ready to present the most ground breaking, life changing and comprehensive poker education on the market today, Poker Camp.

Just as record breaking Ethiopian and Kenyan world class runners have achieved their phenomenal success with modest circumstances, gathering in training camps and living in a close community dedicating themselves to their training, the Poker Camp’s coaches are looking to gather a small group of 8-12 dedicated poker players to develop their games in an unprecedented approach to poker training.

A day at Poker Camp will begin at 8am at Poker Camp in Copenhagen, where participants together with Anders and I will be starting the day with a physical training program that is optimized for poker. This morning workout routine is something that we will follow 5 days a week. After showering, participants then put on their work uniforms (t-shirts sponsored by the Poker Camp sponsor) and the daily grind begins. As a group, participants will break for lunch and the afternoons will be used for game-improvement, In which participants will work through HH reviews and general startegy discussion via group sessions. Students will also be required to work through study material provided by Tobias and Anders, such as pokervideos, journals and ebooks.

What you get from this project:
-Admission to poker camp 24 hours a day all year round.
-Development of your game using feedback and advice from Anders Jensen and I, Tobias Storm, 6 or 7 days a week.
-Contact with a wide network of dedicated professional poker players.
-Guest lectures from various experts on topics such as motivation, mental training, learning techniques, poker etc. (Around 2-4 times a month)
-Daily structured physical training.
-Training uniform (shorts, t-shirts, socks, tracksuit - all sponsored by the Poker Camp sponsor)
-Logbook (sponsored by Poker Camp sponsor)

Those willing to participate in poker camp must:
-Work hard and show great dedication.
-Be interested in healthy living (not only whilst at Poker Camp)
-Study and work hard using the poker material we provide.
-Be willing to participate in physical training.
-Work at least 5 days a week.
-Maintain a log of progress and results.
-Wear uniforms when talking with the media

Participants:
We are already a full team of 8 participants + Anders and I, but we have room for four more participants at present.

Start:
1st September 2012

End:
There is no specific end date but we expect people to commit to the project for a minimum of 6 months. We expect that the project will run for at least 2 years full time.

Price:
$500 per month (we have the opportunity to offer poker camp at such a reasonable price as our sponsor has agreed to bear a large share of the cost of the project).

To register:
If you are interested in taking part in poker camp, please write a short application in this thread, telling us what motivates you to play poker.

FAQ:
Q: Is it still possible to participate if I am in poor physical shape?
A: As long as you have the determination and will power to succeed then yes. You will receive a tailored training program that will get you into shape in a healthy way.

Q: What are the requirements in regard to the level of poker needed?
A: We have no specific requirements in regard to the level needed for poker camp, people of all levels and abilities are invited to have the opportunity to become part of the poker camp. We place most emphasis on how motivated and enthusiastic people are about the project.

Q: Are PLO HU players welcome?
A: It is irrelevant which style of online poker you play, all are welcome on this project as it is mostly aimed toward the mental and motivational aspects of the game. However, neither Tobias nor I are experienced in PLO so will not be able to advise specifically on the game theory.

Q: How many hours of coaching do you get per month?
A: There is not a specific amount of hours of poker coaching, instead what you gain is motivation, coaching and counseling on a daily basis.

About Tobias:
First and foremost I am a coach here on Deucescracked where I have produced two full video series called: The Extra One Percent and Mindsets And Strategies.

I have been playing poker professionelly since 2006. My main-game is HU SNG where I play on the 200$-2000$ buy-in level. However I also play quite a lot of 6-max cash-games, where I mainly play NL400-NL600.

You can see some of my Sharkscope HU SNG stats via this link: http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/846/sharkscopestatss.png/

You can see some of my cash-game stats on PTR via this link: http://www.pokertableratings.com/ongame-player-search/xStorm

I have been coaching a bunch of students from DeucesCracked. You can find some reviews I have recieved from my coaching here:

About Anders:
I have been playing poker professionelly for 6 years. I started out playing fullring SNG's but quickly converted to playing cash-games instead. My main-game today is NL400$ NLHE 6max which I mass multi-table with an average of 12-14 tables. Two years ago I was contacted by Bet24 (Ongame skin) which offered me a sponsorship. That has led to me play around 15 different EPT's.
(Unfortuneatly no big live tournament cashes so far)

I am in the danish poker community known for being a freak in optimizing evert single small area Smile

You can see some of my PTR cash-game stats here: http://www.pokertableratings.com/ongame-player-search/bamsenug
(I have been 12 tabling through all of these 467K hands. So rake-back has obv been a substantial part of my total profit)

You can see HEM stats for the last 100K cash-game hands I have been playing here:

If you are curious to see how me and Anders look in real life you can see a danish TV interview we recently did about The Poker Camp here: http://www.lorry.dk/artikel/113888?autoplay=1&video_id=68630
(Unless you are Scandinavian you probably won't be able to understand a single word though)

If you ever plan to organise such a project in the netherlands I 100% will participate, RL doesn't enable me to participate but this will be one of the best ways to get the max out of poker I think,

GL to everyone who participates!

I have coached Anders and he is a very smart player. Actually he is the first player I have ever met where I did not think that mass multi-tabling hurt his ability to think clearly about every hand.

Awesome idea guys, 2 questions:
Is the camp a house where every stays or is it more like an office and you have to find accommodation elsewhere?
Is being able to speak Danish a requirement?

@Mitch
It is more like an office. Participants have to find accommodation elsewhere.

It is not a requirement to be able to speak Danish at all. Your english has to be decent though.

Have you guys thought of organizing some coaching workshops, say 2-3 days up to a week long ? This will appeal to many more people I would guess, as relocating is obviously quite hard for the most.
