So after playing at fulltilt for years, I've been playing at ipoker. Took me really long to adjust to the site, find the right setting etc. but I was allways kinda unhappy there. Software has become a lot better, service was allways ok, 60% rakeback is nice, but still it allways kinda sucked.

So I wanna begin a new career at Pokerstars, how should I approach?

Since I already have an account at PS I won't be getting any big bonus right? Any tips here for getting the best out of the VIP system?

I used to play about 30-40K hands at 100NL 6max, 6-8tabling. Only used a mod at Ipoker and the old version of holdem Manager.

Now that more software is available for PS, what should I get? Definately going to get tableninja, what else? any fishtracking software? session timer, stoploss etc?

How should I set up my PS account? happy for any advice, since it allways takes me ages to figure that stuff out myself.

Also happy for any links to other related topics or post
Thanks for your help guys!
cheers
EJ

If you have 60% RB ATM you should probably wait until stars offers a reload bonus then take advantage of that. It takes a solid month before you can get to a decent VIP level.

I play 100nl on stars at the moment usually 4 tables but up to 6. Not sure if you knew, but the stars software has customizable hotkeys so you probably would not need table ninja if that's the reason you want it. Stars also lets you customize default bet size buttons both for preflop and post. Very useful.

Personally the only 3rd party software I use is pokertracker and the experience is pleasant.

As far as session timer and stop loss... Why?

Yeahh, just saw that option, really nice. Pretty much the same as table ninja.
Do you table select on your own?

Table selection at 100nl on stars is still relatively easy, there are alot of fish. I often find that starting tables can be a good way to find the fish. And ofcourse just tag them and then later in the lobby you can see if someone you tagged as a fish sits.

Regarding the VIP system, at 40k/month you will have about 12-13K VPP's. This makes you platinum but you will struggle to hit supernova before the end of the year. And supernova makes stars alot more 'grindable' compared to Platinum. For Supernova you need 100K Vpp's this year, with 6 months to go this means average about 17K.

However I do think the overall game quality and fish make up for any lost rakeback. I havn't played on Ipoker in a long long time but I've never heard there are good games there, way more often people say its reg infested.

thanks for your input! I left ipoker cause of the really bad connection I had + I don't wanna here myself complain about bad software anymore ;-) 100NL was really reggy at Ipoker, but beatable I guess. Making supernova this year is not an option for me, platinumstar should get me like 20% rakeback right?
Just downloaded HM2, you guys use the Tablescanner at all?

Heres a pokerstars rakeback chart

The thing is if you use software to table select you will just be put on waiting lists with everyone else.

What sort of volume do you have to put in before you can expect around $1000 a month in rewards on Stars? Is this only possible with 6-8 tables at NLHE100? How many hours a day?
