Hi all!
Zoom is running since 2 months now and I close to playing my 100 000th and 100NL FR Zoom...
How is zoom going so far for you in term of winning and how it compares to regular tables for you?
Do you feel the games (for the same limit at normal tables) are softer, almost the same level, or tougher? Did you make any adjustments to your game?
Also, for those that Zoom increased their hand / hr, is it having any effect on the quality of your play?
Would like to have your toughts on how Zoom is going so far for DC members.

i've put in about 50k hands of NL10, 30k hands of NL25, and 7K hands of NL50 so far this past week
NL10z and NL25z is like the wild west. No rules or common sense, aggro monkeys all over. Damn near tilted me to death. Even shuttle wrote about a similar experience with NL25z in his blog.. and he seldom tilts.. if ever.
NL50z so far plays like I remember NL50r playing and I feel much more comfortable
tldr; = Skip NL10z and NL25z if you value your sanity and just play NL50z or higher.

Played 50k hands each on NL200z and NL100z - and I guess the games are close to unplayable tbh.
Not only am I running 5k below EV this month (ok, can´t blame Zoom for that), but the swings are brutal. And huge swings point to low winrates. And what I see there is that players are not folding - never. So, a huge portion of the game consists of making hands, let them hold and valuebet thinly. Probably beatable - but seemingly not at real high winrates longterm, because the line between valuebetting thinly and valuecutting ourselves is pretty thin.
Sounds like a rant post - but believe me, I´m thinking about zoom and the edge for days / weeks now.

There are few things to consider I think. First, Zoom brings a lot more of deep stack situations. That means a lot more variance ( I lost twice with AA aipf 200bb in the first week I was playing Zoom...) and it needs new skills to master deep stack play as well.
Also, I was usually table selecting well, now I can't do that.
So far, I feel games are tougher, I was a good 100NL FR player on normal tables, now I am about BE at Zoom, so I have almost the same feeling than you so far. This is why I posted the message above. Wanted to validate my impressions so far.
Zoom is still beatable tough, I have one poker friend that is totally crushing 200NL zoom, FR and 6 Max. He is a very good player tought, having a positive red line at FR.... and is a good hand reader as well.
In the long run, I think that my game will improve a lot playing Zoom, because now it forces me to try to exploit regs better....
In the end, I decided to play Zoom because I can play a lot of hands / hr and this fits well in a busy schedule for a part time player. Altough, if I can't win as much as I was at the tables, I might consider playing only normal tables if my results don't improve much.

Yeah this tilted me really hard. I do tilt a lot though, but yeah this tilted me much harder than anything else in poker recently.
Honestly I think a large part of my winrate is from playing deep, many regulars have a good 100bb game that isn't particularly exploitable but you get to 200+bb and they have huge leaks.

Yes exactly, playing deep put me in spots I did not know how to handle. I had to study a little bit more deep stack play and adjust accordingly, but this still an ongoing process!

I haven't played Zoom but I did play a fair amount of rush and being deepstacked even when your opponents weren't seemed to increase your fold equity. Has anyone had a similar experience at zoom?

I've noticed this a lot over ~20K hands at Zoom (mainly at 0.25BB). Regardless of effective stack sizes if you have 200BB you get a lot more fold equity and pushing people around becomes way easier.

I am looking for an update on this from any reg’s at 50nl+
Do we feel Zoom is more profitable than normal tables?
Is anyone thinking off playing Rush once FTP is back and how high do we think the games will run?

Stan

I never used to play cash on stars before; I was playing 200NL FR on another site; but this month I've seriously fallen in love with Zoom.
I've never been a great mass multitable player so it's massively increasing my hand rate without the usual lack of focus I experience with loads of tables. I got off to a bad start but now on a bit of a heater I've put in about 27k hands total at 100NLFR Zoom at 7bb/100 (including the terrible start and the current heater.)
I can't compare to normal FR on Stars but finding there is a load of value, if I don't recognise someone I assume they are straight forward / bad player just jumping in for a spin until they prove otherwise and its worked out pretty well so far. I expect a respectable win rate to be achievable in the long run, and even if its lower than standard games the hand rate more than compensates.
I love that it is so easy to go from 4 tables to fewer very quickly if you feel your not playing your best then build back up without feeling like your giving up on any good tables, just a slower hand speed so you can refocus.
I'm concerned though that when Rush comes back it's going to result in 2 smaller playing pools. 200NL FR Zoom never runs (OK it did for like 1 hour once this month) and even 100NL hasn't been running 24/7 if Rush offers FR as well it will struggle. Might have to try to switch to 6 max again but I can imagine similar issues across the sites for the higher stakes speed offerings..........
