If you haven't played in a while, how do you get back in to form?

Just a random thought, but I basically didn't play at all in the month of April due to excess work and family obligations. When I started playing again last weekend, I dropped down below my normal stakes, just to get comfortable again. When I mentioned that to a friend, he told me I was nuts.

So what do you do when you haven't played in a while?

Playing less tables, lower stakes is a pretty good idea.

I even like doing this at the beginning of a session, as a little warm-up and to see if your brain is there for you today.

Sports training montage. Think Rocky 3 but with poker.

Before every session I do one of the Japanese pencil puzzles Smile Just like jasperdgg said, to start-up brain.

But if I don't play for a while, I lose "touch" pretty quickly. So yeah, I also need lower stakes + less tables, for a day or two. Just to get the feeling back. I think it's a must, not nuts.
