I haven't played 100bb games in awhile, and am a totally unsure about the min-buy(60bb) in TAGs that have auto-rebuy on; they're usually fairly tight, what's the deal with these guys?

Bit of a vague OP, just trying to figure out the Psychology behind these guys. 20bb was a solid style, but 60bb?

Not sure I have come across a good one yet between 2-50nl. Thought I did once, checked him on ptr (when you could) he was a 2k loser at the micros.

They make their money mostly from rakeback so their only objective is to play as close to break even as possible I think?

They're just fish buying in for the minimum.

I think people do that when then want to play more tables but don't have the roll for 100bb.

TAG auto-rebuying fish?

Ironically enough they seem to play better than the 100bb regs.

I've been stacking off light against these guys preflop, thinking a shorter stack strategy would involve more 3betting/stacking off, but over 4 samples they've shown up with a monster everytime. They're all particularly tight, like 17/15 @ 6max, makes me think they're just risk aversive/scared or something.

Really nothing wrong with buying in for 60bb if all the fish have 60bb or less.

oh and omnirage - the fact that they're only stacking off light pre with monsters is an indicator that they're bad rather than good.

how can they make significant rakeback at 10nl- crazy they play this way. I really don't get it. Higher could have some merit but don't know what that merit is.

There's about 50-50 60bb + fish @ 888

Yeah, I don't really get it... well, I guess if you only play big pair type of hands then maybe it's a way to reduce RIO... but, it is pretty interesting to see otherwise decent regs three quarter stacking or less.

I'm not into short-stacking but I imagine it's because they play as many tables as possible but they also need to move off a table once they've doubled up so they need to move around tables a lot?

It's not because of rb. Every stacksize has to be played differently - more things to consider - less tables. Also they need to be able to play a fullstack as well as they usually aren't ratholers/ want to buy in fullstacked if they have position on a fullstacked fish.
I guess it's best suitable for MTT players switching or just want to get in volume when they have only 1 tourney left in which they run deep. Not many mid stack regs know how to adjust to different stack sizes. This could give an MTT player a slight edge over a reg that normally has the edge over him.
Also they are hard to read as they will play every stacksize differently if they are any good.
