what if you get sucked out twice?
Then you do. And you lose the exact same amount as you would have running it once and getting sucked out on. The point is, you're considerably less likely to get sucked out on twice than you are to get sucked out on once, so variance is reduced.

i think we can affect EV by running it once or twice. if we steam after getting sucked out on, running it twice when ahead will benefit us. otoh, when behind, running it once can benefit us since we have more opportunities to tilt our opponents.

Not only that, it uses up a little more of your runbad.

This is (apparently) why Barry Greenstein never runs it twice. Sorry to have caused this massive derail btw. Hope the US players get their money back.

I don't see any reason to be afraid of PS purchasing FTP. If they get 3/4 of the market through being the best and most reliable site - good for them and let it be a lesson to competition.
And rake? It's already quite high and given the games are getting tougher I don't see how could they possibly increase it further. From their perspective, who is the best customer? Micro-stakes 80/10 fish? Winning high stakes players? No. The former brings money to the system the latter take it away. But it is 20 tabling small stakes breaking-even regular who takes money from the fish and dumps it in rake to the site. And they are the ones who would be first to die out if the rake was raised. Most of them are still playing only because of VIP programs and rakeback anyway.
Also being monopoly in online poker is not sth you can so easily maintain. If you raise the rake to high you will see people changing sites within hours.
