I just need to release some anger. Over the last three days I have lost almost half my roll. I'm not going to make excuses, I probably haven't played my absolute best, but tonight's graph pretty much sums it up....

http://img33.imageshack.us/img33/3118/screenshot20120403at120j.png

I know it's Ai-EV, but 4 buy-ins under in only 1600 hands. Here's just an example of what it has been like since Saturday afternoon....

Merge - $0.10 NL (6 max) - Holdem - 6 players
Hand converted by PokerTracker 3

UTG: $15.17
MP: $6.94
CO: $10.00
Hero (BTN): $10.75
SB: $10.97
BB: $10.11

SB posts SB $0.05, BB posts BB $0.10

Pre Flop: ($0.15) Hero has KClub KSpade

fold, fold, fold, Hero raises to $0.26, fold, BB raises to $1.32, Hero raises to $3.00, BB raises to $10.11 and is all-in, Hero calls $7.11

Flop: ($20.27, 2 players) KDiamond QDiamond 7Spade

Turn: ($20.27, 2 players) JClub

River: ($20.27, 2 players) 6Spade

Hero shows KClub KSpade (Three of a Kind, Kings) (Pre 83%, Flop 82%, Turn 23%)
BB shows 9Diamond TClub (Straight, King High) (Pre 17%, Flop 18%, Turn 77%)
BB wins $19.26

This wouldn't have been so bad, as I'm a big proponent of looking at the positive, but when the d-bag runs it up in chat right afterwards it got under my skin.

I could post on and on of course. One guy shoved A3o vs my JJ and turns a straight, then 9 hands later same villain shoves AJo vs QQ, spikes an ace on the river....of course he runs his mouth too right before leaving the table. Then he sits at another table of mine, posts, cold calls my 3bet with KTo vs my QQ, flop comes Q92r and he x/jams to hit the J on the turn. Runs his mouth again and leaves after one hand.

Anyway, I don't need anyone to respond or post links to anti-tilt videos because that is the positive I have taken out of this current down-swing. I have never chased losses, played beyond my roll and have actually dropped in limits as the hand I posted indicates. Just sucks to be up 5 buy-ins at $25NL and to fall to 11 down in the 13K hands I put in. Oh well, back to $10NL and hopefully can get back to taking shots again...sorry to waste everyone's time who read this. Smile

I know you said you didn't need replies, but....

This indicates (to me) that you're letting these hands get into your head. You may not think that it is affecting your play, but it seems like bad beats are distracting you in a way that will affect your focus and concentration.

Also be warned, 4 BI under EV in 1600 hands isn't gonna be the worst you'll experience Wink Not even close

Yeah, first thing I do when I sit down. I flick it back on for a few seconds after someone loses a big hand to see if they're tilting, though.

I was 20BI under ev once in about 2k hands once... gotta love HU

i know it sounds repetitive but just have to get used to the swings... don't think of it as money.

Understand there are ups and downs but the overall picture of your graph will still be going up after a larger sample.

fwiw... i learned not to look at my graph during play or even after a session... I would review my hand history after every session but I would wait for larger intervals (like every 10k hands) to look at my graph. A habit I picked up from my SNG days

Can you self ban on merge? If so ban yourself for 3 days so you can cool off. Then you can look at the situation objectively.

Thanks for all the replys guys. I don't play every day so I won't be back online until probably tomorrow night or maybe Saturday.

I don't do this either. I feel if I would keep checking then I would be influenced by results so I don't even bother.

Also of note, turn off player chat.

This is probably a good idea and I'll be looking to do this from now on. Smile

The good thing was up until the very end of my session I wasn't upset with the beats I was taking. The last couple happened within the last couple of minutes and I felt myself getting frustrated so that's when I decided to call it a night.

Yeah if chat puts you on tilt, I would turn it off. It may very well get you to focus more on the action as it's one less thing to worry about.
