Does america really think that we dutch people talk the language of our neighbours (the germans)?

I notice it a lot in movies and/or series that dutch people always talk german.

I was under the impression that us Americans agreed that everyone spoke either U.S. english, or spoke either with a Russian accent and talked about Soviet era politics or like the terrorists in Team America: World Police if we considered you a bad guy

They speak French and Dutch.



As for movies, all we do is make foreigners speak languages that aren't ours or in English accents. We don't care about accuracy, we just give them whatever to show they're unfortunate enough to not be Americans.
