before we go further, we have to define the ineffective "good diet."

it's a myth because the alternative to a "bad diet" has been to eat low fat because we've also assumed oily foods = oily skin. just like fat foods = fat body.

i'm gonna pull out my anecdotal card since i had severe cystic acne as a kid and adult acne still. and nothing works even close to strict LCHF (no dairy) for acne prevention.

try skin therapy. Worked great for me and I had it 'badly'

Nawhead, I agree with a lot you are saying. Out of interest, do you drink a lot of coffee? But for people to go blanked no carbs is not right. Yes they will be lean and skinny, but I would imagine concentration can be difficult at the best of times.

my overall concentration has improved since going LCHF. but it's realy hard to rely on self reports of mental states, so i wouldn't expect people to take it at face value.

but the greatest impact is not fading out after every meal.

If you ask bodybuilders pre-contest, where they are on a very small amount of carbs or non, they really struggle with life in general and maybe find themselves compensation by using caffeine for example.

my intuition is that their heads are fuzzy because they're low fat as well as low carb pre-contest.

i've been drinking coffee for years, even before going LCHF, so i can't say one way or another.

Sounds like you were just eating poorly pre-LCHF.

Someone mentioned acne here so I figured I could throw my 2 cents here.

Acne is not natural for humans and it's caused by animal products because they stimulate some hormone production, unfortunately I can't remember which, but you can check out from youtube Dr. McDougall on acne.

I don't want to start war here, but I must say that low carb thing is fail although it's one step above SAD (Standard American Diet) as they eat natural foods, hopefully. Every cell in human needs glucose which you get from carbs so it makes no sense to eliminate your preferred fuel. Some of you might say that "but liver produces necessary glucose.........." and yeah it does, for survival. Do you want to live on a survival diet? The one that helped human to evolve this far?

Simply put, you don't want to restrict the amount of water you drink, you don't want to restrict the amount of air you breath, you don't want to restrict the amount of energy you get = carbs. All these affect your quality of life.

Low Fat High Carb is where it's at. Preferred carb source is fruit, 2nd is things like rice and potatoes. The less animal products you eat, the healthier you will be, although for top health you don't have to eliminate them all.

This is my first post apparently so go easy on me. ^_^

So why is it more prevalent amongst teenagers? They aren't eating more animal products than someone older.

Lymecycline works goods.

i used to be on tetracycline when younger. i do agree these drugs work. but they're very powerful and expensive.

try skin therapy. Worked great for me and I had it 'badly'

is that similar to Pro-Active? i found that worked decently for me. i just got tired of it after awhile since it took up so much of my time.

i guess i gave up on expensive, time-consuming solutions once i got into my 20's and i still had severe break-outs. you get a thick skin (no pun) about it once you get older. then i started LCHF and lo and behold the skin started clearing up out of nowhere. you can read testimonials from other people who report similar results on paleo forums. and i haven't had a major outbreak in 1 year (correlation is not causation Poke Tongue).

Can't say, but for some reason it just happens to be like that, has been for ages. Maybe it's caused by those changes in body??

i am not sure what pro-active is.

Skin therapy here is:
Therapist that specialize in the skin. People with cancer and aids go there too, when their wounds get to painful. But they also specialize in all kind of rashes and acne.

Its very painful. getting a tattoo is like 0.000001 of the pain you will get from skin therapy and acne

Nawhead,

I'm from the UK, so I don't pay for meds Smile

Some people associate worsening acne with high glycemic. A lot of it is hereditary, and due your body producing too much of a serum I believe.

I eat a paleo diet and I can honestly say I've never felt better in my life!! The rest of the world needs to get on this diet!! I haven't cut out carbs at all I get as much as I need from fruit and veg just not from grains or sugar. I've been doing it almost a year now and my energy levels have increased, my skin has improved, my mood has improved, I've stopped getting ill, I've never looked better and I've never been in better shape.

To anyone who is saying its rubbish all I will say is don't knock it until you've tried it. I seriously can't imagine anyone going back to any other way of eating after doing this for a couple of months. I can't praise this diet enough it has changed my life! I know how unrealistic all this sounds but it's true!

To see some of the amazing things that it can do watch this

It's funny how you can cure diseases, that have been labeled as incurable my modern medicine, simply by going all fruit or green juices or just water fasting. All that "war" against cancer that costs billions and they can't see it Gasp. I wish they could use that kind of money to something that really would help people instead of killing them, although I guess that keeps the population growth under control

Yoda if you're going to throw out strong statements like that you're going to have to back them up with something.
