Really cool idea, the link to the fresh start sheet doesn't seem to be working but I'm sure I'm just typing it in wrong. Is there a way in future you could have the link posted in the description rather than the comments?
Sthief09 talks briefly about the series as a whole then goes into his "Fresh Start Form".
Looking for a fresh start? Inevitably during the course of our poker careers, most of us hit a point when we lose the desire to continually improve, play our A-games, or just put in hands. In So Fresh and So Clean, sthief09 starts fresh, gets back to basics, and leads you toward re-discovering your passion for and getting re-dedicated to this game we all love.

I really like this idea for the series. I'm really interested to see how it develops. I think for myself and many players black Friday has caused a lack of motivation. There is no table selection and almost no games other than nhold em. In the past when I got "bored" I would learn a new game. Also with cash out problems on many sites it's kind of like there is no light at the end of a tunnel. I'm not willing to put much of a bankroll on. I then tell myself I'll grind 5nl to a goal and get impatient and move too soon. Great idea for a series.
Thank-you SO much for doing this. I've been playing for like 4 years and really have made no progress, I think due to just being tired of no progress and it's a compounding issue. Lately I've started playing way more live poker and it has re-ignited a passion to play. A lot of the time I find that there is SO much information available to us and I don't know where to start. I feel like I need a "Fresh Start". I want to just start over!
Did I say thank-you?
Oh, great idea for the series, perfect timing, this is what i was looking for!
This is really terrific. I'm on board with the goals, reward/punishment thing and the whole aggressive bankroll part. For people who don't have excel, the fresh start sheet works fine with libre office, which is freely downloadable and available for windows, mac and linux.
Hah I can't believe it, I was very close to giving up poker altogether after a year of lack of results. I decided to try again today from scratch going down to nl50 and just trying to go back when poker felt good for me. I login at DC then looking for some new series and I see this "So Fresh so Clean" lol feels like a sign or something
So trying to really get into this series, I have even filled the excel sheet together with you and I have always been really lazy with such things, so that's a good beginning for me I think. I probably won't try the aggresive moving up at least not for now, as I want to grind some more hands on nl50 (that's where I start though) just to try to focus on playing my A-game without tilting.
Thanks for this episode, good work and keep it up next week! ![]()
Hi sthief,
this is really great. This in combination with krantz's recent video really was what i was juggling with in my brain.
You can count me in.
These are my goals:

I am a midstake regular who is playing upto 1kNL but is only a marginal winner. I put in tons of volumes given the fact that I have a regular job and a loving wife. I have been around here for a long time and always appreciated DC's content.
Looking forward to the next episodes and trying to grind it up now with 300$ at 20NL.
I'm up for this aswell.
I actually started playing back at 25nl about a week ago, after playing up to 200nl before and not playing for a couple of months. Was starting to put some goals together, like posting more on the forums.
Think this will help me alot to get motivated and hopefully improve my play and maybe meet some new people.
Will also participate in the bankroll challenge aswell.
Also, if you need someone for a video, i'd be more than happy to do that obviously
.
My Form:
My form
Working on goals form and I am going to try bankroll challenge only on a smaller scale. After depositing $25 on bodog and playing 5nl the past 10 days im up to about 15 1/2 buyins so ill take a shot at 10nl.
I'm in.
I'm doing the BR challenge thing too. To make it easier to track the new BR, I filtered my HEM to show only hands from today onwards.
The new blank table and blank graph on my HEM feel "So fresh and Sssooooo clean".
Clean slate... let's go!
I'm going to give this a try. Here is my form http://membervideos.deucescracked.com/SIide/13952/Fresh%20Start%20Sheet.xls
My main problem is lack of volume. I've tried things similar like this in the past but have always ran into the problem of making unobtainable/overly optimistic goals and having nothing to hold me accountable when I don't achieve them.
I don't think it specifically states this anywhere, but I'm under the impression this series will apply to all poker players and not just NLHE players? I myself am a LHE/Draw Player.

I've been planning on starting something like this anyways in an attempt to grind a roll to play PT and hopefully pay for a trip next summer, so this series is at the right time for me! Looking forward to it.
What a video. This is just what i need. I really lost all motivation for playing. But
Now I want to be the best player so Thank you
Anyways here is my goal Im really serious
