"Winning my money back" syndrome is just tilt, don't take your losses personally against him and you shouldn't care whether or not he leaves at all.
It is really annoying in HU games tho', altho' honesty if you've lost a BI and the momentum you should probably quit yourself so even there he's pretty much doing you a favor.
Edit: Ha, Terp you're awesome.

If it does factor into your play, and affects you at all mentally- and shifts you off your A game whatsoever and you cannot recover from it might be best to chose another game type. But working through the pain of a hitnrunner and still playing good poker over time you will build a mental block shield and it ill not bug you at all.
Just like anything in life, If you don't liek whats is happening you either fail- or learn to crush the problem and move forward. inch worm in full effect-

I wonder if there is a viable reason to be a hit and run type of player? Like if your opponents know you are a hit and runner and the adjustments that would be made. I have seen a big stakes online game where one person won a lot of money and immediately tightened up. He didn't leave but he tightened up and eventually left a winner. Two months two million is where I saw this Krantz vs. Benyamine. Benyamine sucks out then tightens up for the rest of the session. Kinda like a hit and run. I don't think a player of Krantz caliber would be tilted by this. But you never know. It might work on others (tilting them).
