Just starting to try to make a move, but here's the info I'm gathering re: CARBON

Their site has a full page on ways to DEPOSIT, but says very little or nothing about how to WITHDRAW??

They sent a DC member a bad check? (that can't be a good sign)

They have ONLY 9 player tables? I like playing 6-max SNGs....so they don't offer those at any level?

I'd appreciate anyone's comments, don't want to ship any $$$ without a little better understanding Thanx

Well if your outside the US, I would not sign up there. PokerStars, than PartyPoker would be much better choices.

Now if your in the US....Carbon is probably your best bet.

They have grown 61% in last 3 weeks.
More and more US players are flocking to Crabon over any other site right now.

It is pretty easy to deposit using Western Union.

Withdraws are delayed, yes, but honestly what site right now is making timely withdraws to US players ?

You also have Bodog, Lock, Cake as options.

It is a crapshoot right now, and no one can promise anything. As far as will they be around for awhile, or be shut down ala Stars and FT.

No one can promise you will get your money off of the site in a timely manner right now. If your in the US dictatorship.

bottomline, I think Carbon is the best bet right now. But again just my 2 cents

What are you talking about they have 6 max SNG's and ring games? It says SH by type. If you open the table it says 6 handed...

Hey Joe Tall,

I just signed up for rakeback on carbon via DC. When I inquired there about the details of the $50 MGR free streaming subscription Chris from DC Rakeback told me that he only knows about the $500 MGR full subscription offer. The conversation is below:

Sorry, one more question. For the $50 free DC streaming subscription offer, when does the month start? Is it from the 1st of the month until the last day of the calendar month? When you first hit $50, does the free month start immediately, or do you have to wait until the next month to get access to the videos?

Thanks,
Justin

Hello Justin,

Yes, Carbon Poker pays you daily to your account. Last I checked they make the payments around 1am EST.

I believe the Free DC subscription you are referring to requires $500 MGR in a month. At the end of the month when stats are finalized and your MGR is over $500, you will have an option to click a button and activate your free month subscription, so it will start when you activate it.

You can find out more details here:
http://rakeback.deucescracked.com/outer_pages/dc_promo.html

Please let us know if you have any other questions.

Regards,
-Chris

Rakeback support must have forgot. You will get streaming-only access when you reach $50 within a 30-day rolling period.

Example: you reach $50 MGR on the 18th, you are upgraded until the 18th of the next month, then the site will check for $50 MGR again, as long as it's over, you will stay upgraded.

Wow the tables at micros are rediculously tight.

Saw 6 FR .10/.25 going.

Only 1 was above 30% PF
2 were10-15%
3 were under 10%

So either it is peak time for uber tight regs, or this is going to be ugly.

I disagree with pretty much every point that you make.
1. Carbons has grown 60% but it's all grinders. I rank it as the worse site to play unless that is the only place that any games that you play run.
2. yes, it's easy to deposit with Western Union but I prefer to just use a credit card (no trip to your bank to get the cash, then trip to Western Union, and no $12 fee). I am not in love with the WU deposit option.
3. Bodog, Lock and Cake: no, those are not the only options. How about Everleaf, which is really multiple networks. How about Yantahay?
4. Crapshoot: yes, to some extent. However, I would argue that it's more like a poker game. Think about the situation, what has happened, who is involved, likely next moves. There is some predictability.
5. Actually, I am pretty confident in one withdrawal option that I have right now. It's a wire withdrawal & yes, I will move money from other sites to this site and then wire it. Re-tested this the Monday after black Friday to see where stood. Req'd middle of the night on Sunday, rec'd Wednesday in my bank.

Cake has even tighter tables then carbon and you can't use a HUD. All sites are going to suck compared to PS and FT. Any site you go to now that takes US players will be filling with grinders. The days of tables being full of fish are gone. Training sites, books, and this damn ban have F-ed up the game forever. The game will make a come back if the ban is lifted but there still won't be fish every where. I use to never see 3 and 4 betting at low limits. I use to see a ton of open limping preflop as well. Unless there some site out there with fish that are not from the US then there is no great site to go to. I say not from the US because they can deposit with a credit card in non US areas.

thats why its time to start looking at games outside of NLHE FR and 6max.

from my understanding tourneys are still very soft, you can learn PLO, PLOHU, NLHU, etc etc. May have to break from the herd to gain an edge elsewhere.

i know from exp the low level tourneys on merge are loaded with awful players shoving terrible hands.

If you think about it all the training sites and all the new players all flock to NLHE and because of the difficulty to deposit and the average joes general limited knowledge of online poker NLHE ring games are super tough these days.

You have to make 150,000 VIPs to clear the entire bonus. The number of hands totally depends on the level you're playing.

I can't speak to the first topic, but I've looked at the site numerous times and the games appear to be totally reg-rich nitfests. I mean, at something like 25nl, I saw almost no tables with table VPIPs over 20% (and most were in the mid-teens). That's just insane.

I concur. A good table at Merge seems to be around 25% Plrs/Flop. But what can you do?
