Series' title from The Ramones?
Quick question: for those who watched your AppAttack, is there any new information available in the new series?
If I use and am familiar with Leakbuster filters - is there anything more I can learn from your new videos?
Kind regards
Pawel
I think we played together on FTP like 5 years ago. I had a Swedish coach at the time (MDMA) and I can still here his voice in my head from when we'd review hands. "Magister Luuuudi"
To answer your questions:
- Yes, this will be much different from App Attack as a whole. It will be similar in concept to the video where I reviewed Lucas' db. It will just be much more in-depth. I've been going through many peoples' databases trying to find people with different leaks so I can run all sorts of different filters throughout the videos. That App Attack video sort of glossed over this, whereas these videos will be a comprehensive look at breaking your game down by filtering. The stats are an attempt to sort of expedite that process by honing in on certain parts of one's game.
- I have two problems with LB: (1) is that they just throw tons of numbers and filters at you and it can be overwhelming. It's also tough to know where sample sizes are insufficient. (2) is that it's a computer program so it lacks any sort of common sense.
My goal for this series is basically for you to be your own LeakBuster by knowing what to look for and how to look for it, using your common sense and understanding of the filters. This video was basically just to get you started. For the rest of them, you'll be able to see how I go about looking at the db of specific players, and there will also be a lot of resulting NLHE strategy discussion.
As you can hopefully tell, I'm passionate about this, and I'm confident it'll be worth viewing even if you have LB. I've been doing this type of thing long before I knew about LB.

Is this series focussing on 6-max or Full Ring or both?
I had a couple of people offer up db's with a lot of Full Ring play. the problem is, I just don't know about the stat ranges for FR. This series will still be helpful for a FR player, and the filters still apply, I just won't be able to say "your zzz stat is xx%. that's high, so run a filter."

Hey Josh,
I'm having a little trouble with this formula too, could you show how you work it out with some sample numbers please?
The way the formula SHOULD be (as I said, I'm going to see what I can do regarding getting this fixed):
(WWSF - wtsd*w$@SD) / (1- wtsd)
WWSF = 45%
WTSD = 25%
W$@SD = 50%
(.45 - .25*.50) / (1 - .25) = 43.3% won without showdown.

Thank you for your answer. It's convinced me to prepare myself for watching the whole series.
But please use bigger databases now than in AppAttack!
You're taking me for someone else. I play poker for just little over 2 years. The only thing we have in common is that I made a comment in one of your AppAttack episodes
This name is from Hermann Hesse's book, I guess someone else also read this, or just liked an idea of having "Master of the game" login in Latin

yours would be about 43% (see above post).
Thanks - I wish it was I just invented those numbers to see if they made a significant difference - mine is actually just under 40% - need some more aggression....but playing very stationey micro games (NL20/25/30) so I need to be careful how I manage it I think (WTSD% 27% W$SD% 52.8%....WWSF only 43.2% for last 50k hands)
I will go through those filters you showed for low WWSF in detail to see what stands out.

You meant to write if flop cbet/turn cbet is bigger than 1.8 not less
I've put together stat for Won % without showdown, you can download the customstats.txt file here
http://tinyurl.com/4f3yuwn
just put it in your holdemmanager/reports folder (or add the text from the file if you already have it)
then add the stat from the custom stats category
thanks very much for posting this!

Really looking forward to this series.
My W$ w/o SD percentage is higher than my W$ @ SD. I'm assuming that's not normal, but can having such a high W$ w/o SD effect the W$ @ SD? Obv the latter affects the former, but does it work both ways? Or do I just need to stop calling the f'ing river (which I need to do regardless of the answer).

What exactly are your WWSF/WtSD/W$@SD?

WWSF = 48.7
WtSD = 28.2
W$@SD = 46.4
yeah that's probably an issue assuming we're not looking at a small sample. I would suspect you're making too many of those protection (not for value, not as bluff) bets on early streets. If your agg% on the flop is in the 50s, that's probably the case. aggression is obviously a good thing in general, but sometimes it hinders your ability to manipulate the pot effectively.
I'd also take a look at the river call efficiency to see if that's low.
If neither of these things are true, let me know and I'll think about some other possible reasons. 46% won at showdown is troubling.
