Does anyone here have any info on how the Paleo diet would affect or benefit someone who has psoriasis? Im pretty certain dairy and grains aggravates the condition a lot so it can only be win win for me right?

i've been slowly munching on more bread and pasta and and cookies and fries, because... well it's just everywhere and cheap, and i don't eat that much so i feel like i need to eat it to bulk up on calories tho i consciously know that i'm just eating empty foodstuffs and am actually gaining weight again yet feeling hungrier. bump that. time to re-commit!

Same here...I've been on a (s)low card diet for like 5 months and my resolve has all but completly evaporated recently...I have no appetite for the stuff I'm allowed to eat so I'm usually hungry but unwilling to prepare myself anything that I'm allowed to have, so I end up binging on stuff I can't have late in the evenings when my willpower is at it's lowest. It's tough to go from eating for pleasure and gratification to treating food primarily as fuel, especially when getting fit and healthy becomes just one more thing to deal with in life and not an all-consuming passion. I'm contemplating ways to enlist the help of some of my real life health-minded friends; I'm hoping for some synergy vig!
Little bump here. I bought the book and the cookbook, finally getting around to changing my diet now. Not necessarily for weight loss reasons, as I've always been pretty skinny, just want to live healthier.
I've been at it for about a day or two now and I'm experiencing some carb withdrawal it seems... feel light headed, my concentration isn't quite there, quite a strange sensation overall. My diet for the past years has been mostly bread and pasta, so it is quite a radical change for me. Have you guys experienced the same and how long did it last?

Initial side effects
If you stop eating sugar and starch cold turkey (recommended) you may experience some side effects as your body gets used to it. For most people it is relatively mild and just lasts a few days. Also there are ways to minimize it.
Common during the first week:
Headache
Tiredness
Dizziness
Heart palpitations
Irritability
The side effects rapidly subside as your body adapts and your fat burning increases. They can be minimized by drinking some extra fluid and temporarily increasing your salt intake somewhat. A good way can be some broth every few hours. Alternatively drink a few extra glasses of water and put some more salt on your food.
The reason is that carbohydrate rich foods may increase the water retention in your body. When you stop eating that food you will lose excess water through your kidneys. That may give dehydration and lack of salt in the first week before the body has had time to adapt.
Some prefer to decrease the intake of carbohydrates slowly, over a few weeks, to minimize side effects. But for most it is wise to take away most sugar and starch right away. A few extra pounds of fluids lost on the scale in the first days is great for the motivation."

go for a GAPs diet with your condition, a lot of Paleos exclude milk or go only for the raw version from grass fed sources..Grains are obviously a big no no..Your condition will improve for sure.
