Hey Jared - enjoyed listening. It sounds to me like you have exactly the right priorities to be happy in life.
I can only echo your sentiments around time and the importance of it - as long as you can appreciate how important it is, otherwise you can simply waste it. I have made some very fortunate choices in my life that have allowed me, fairly recently, to spend about 18 months with my wife and young family - I wouldn't swap that time for any money in the world. BUT I was only able to do so because of hard work coupled with good fortune (outside of the poker world).
Enjoy your family and I hope your wife is forgiving about forgetting when you proposed....I suspect she might know the date, time, what you were wearing, what she was wearing.....![]()

haha you think 'pretty sure' is going to be the answer you want to give your wife if she asks you?
If I where U i would digg into the books and figure out when it was... ;-)

Thanks. Not actually that recent - but reaping the rewards (time with family) was.
Before I listen to this, is the "oldballs" to "crawfish" ratio fairly balanced?
Great job, Jared

somehow impossible to balance two equally awesome forces
This was truly an awesome videoJared. I can relate a tremendous amount to all the relationship stuff. As I was hearing this, I kinda realized why my last break up has been so hard for me. I was together with a girl for 2.5 years, giving her my everything. She was always nice and never cheated or anything, but she didn't give as much back, in terms of love. So the dissapointment when she broke up...the feeling of being "betrayed" by someone you loved so much...whom you had given so much....I think that really got stuck in me..
If I stop for a moment and think about it, you have everything I hope for in life, BUT I'm not a fan of going around hoping for things to happen.. Like you said, just continuing to take good choices will be for the best, and life will turn out good, in a way or another
I have a pretty awesome life atm, don't get me wrong, but I really appreciated the words about relationships, which is not a common subject to talk about in poker. It may show weaknesses to be an emotional person, and people stay away from the topic. I think you just, and I think I do the same as a successful player myself, proved that to be wrong!
Thanks!
