Bushmills is an irish whisky, not a scotch, but it's definitely nice to sip on. Jameson's is nicer in coffee though, IMHO. I'm a scotch noob, but I def like 12yo Glendfiddich over the others I've tried (12yo Glenlivet, Bowmore Islay, 8yo Glen Garrioch (2nd favorite so far)), you know, the cheeper single malts available around here (frozen-rural-ice-hell, Manitoba, CA). I find that I prefer the sweeter, bourbon-like stuff so far.

i don't know much about scotch but i've gotten into rum over the last while, and by far the nicest one i've tried so far is El Dorado 15 year,i'd highly recommend it if anyone's looking to branch out.
i reckon i'll try and pick up a bottle of the Balvenie 12 year old and see what all the fuss is about!

I miss this thread, good bump.
Just cracked open some more Craggenmore...
What should my next bottle be?
Tobermory 20yr single malt. Its the best whiskey i have ever tried. About £35/bottle.
Made on the Isle of Mull.
..and dont add anyting to it whatsoever! (ice, water etc)

so let's move this discussion away from the smoky gentlemen's club out into the main street.
what's your guys picks for best value liquors in the $10-30 category (750ml bottle)?
whisky, tequila, vodka, rum.
i'm a noob at liquors, so right now i only have go to's in tequila and vodka.
Hornitos Reposado tequila, $20 a bottle. 100% blue agave, rested 2 months.
Sobieski vodka. $12 a bottle. ranked as the #1 vodka by the Beverage Tasting Institute in 2007.

why dont US payers form a group of 10.
Each buys a bottle of liquor.
Play a non-cash Sit and Go.
Losers post bottles to top 3 players.
1st - 5 bottles
2nd - 3 bottles
3rd - 1 bottles
hey....but thats only 9 bottles?
The winner don't send his bottle - he drinks it and then posts it to the DOJ.
write them to shove it up their collective arses!
Imagine 1 million empty bottles arriving on doorstep of DOJ!
The liquor bottle could be a symbol of failed prohibtion - ditto Poker etc etc
(btw - would this game break any laws?)
