I always stay quiet. Berated someone for berating is still berating. It's all wrong view and wrong action in my opinion.
Thoroughly enjoyed this first episode & I am looking forward to the next ones.
Nice work both of you
Tommy, you really should consider adding some Caribbean flavour to your background music for these videos![]()
Thanks, man. Good suggestion.
I wonder how many poker players will become buddhists after watching this series. I about two years time , expect lots of bald heads and yellow robes in Vegas.
All kidding aside , excellent series.
I have a question however : my main problem is maintaining focus while playing. I get distracted very easily by internet etc. I also have the feeling that my time on this world is very limited and I always feel the pressure to "get things done". So while playing , I'm doing other stuff at the same moment and thus am not playing my a-game.
I have been listening to Brain Sync cd's while playing and it does tend to help , bu my main question is : does the ability to focus tie in with the eightfold path ?

I read somewhere that "A Buddhist isn't something one becomes, it's something one uncovers."

Totally and completely. See episode 3. It airs today.
Very entertaining video.
Tashi Delek!
Great title and very interesting so far although I am only on episode 1. You gonna make a series on Phowa after stacking someone?? lol.
With palms together, bowing humbly.
I signed up for this series and I'm not disappointed. A+ work.

You have brought a smile of satisfaction to both of us. We have achieved one of our highest goals, and that was to be so good people would sign up to watch.
Our second goal was to be good enough to keep your interest through all 8 episodes.
Our third goal was to make me a better poker player.
Two out of three ain't bad, right, assuming someone makes it through all the episodes?
Thanks for making our day.

To be honest, I didn't except much. I'm pretty sceptical about coaching/practicing the mental side of poker and/or how to think about poker. However, this video was really interesting and I'll definitely watch the rest of the series. Certainly a positive surprise.
I've always felt like I'm capable playing better than I actually do and my session history suggests the same; I usually have 1 or 2 of -15 buy-in sessions in a month, and I'm playing (and still winning) at small stakes NLHE. I'm not saying that I'm a great poker player, but I feel I could be able to play much better if I could control my feelings better while playing.
Those -15bi sessions are usually complete monkeytilt, I'm basically giving away money on the tables. I certainly do have far worse tilt problems than most of the players. I've lately even thought a lot about poker in general, is it really for me? I do enjoy playing poker, talking poker and thinking poker, but I feel that I'm too unstable mentally for this game.
This video sort of wake me up, instead of focusing on improving my A-game and learning to play better, I should probably focus on the mental side, mainly avoiding tilt. Even if we assume that I could avoid losing 1/3 of the money on those monkeytilt sessions, it would increase my winrate a lot.
I don't know why it has taken me so long to get around to watching this especially as tilt is something I struggle with
This was really insightful and what kind of scared me most was just how much I resembled wrong view at times. I'm also aware of it when it is happening but continue on anyway. Every time I think I'm getting better and I have a winning month, then one or two sessions where I get coolered really hard doesn't bother me, but if the bad run continues I find myself slipping back into bad habbits and negative thought patterns.
Kudos on the ultra relaxing ivory tickling also
I think the concepts presented in this series are much more important than people think.
I think this is one of my biggest flaws.
Is it possible get some substitutes (for people like me who have not that good english skills)?
I am relaxed now. What was the video about? ![]()
