I may not be able to do this games WoD, at least any time soon. My shoulder is completely shot and I don't think jerks (even though they are like my 2nd favorite lift) are in my near future though you never know.

The one thing that really tilts me about my gym is that we can't drop weight. Even watching the demo vid these guys drop every time and honestly, catching on the way down is quite taxing.

Anyone had problems with their shoulders in the past? It's funny when I first started getting back into xfit i spent a lot of time stretching my hips. I'm happy I did but I feel like an idiot for completely ignoring my shoulders lol. This sucks.

What are your shoulder problems? I had some posterior shoulder problems a while back but it was all a result of really bad mobility. My upper back/thoracic mobility is for shit, and working on that + form really helped.

As for open wod 3, 165 is my BW so this should be fun. I've missed Grace the last couple of times my box did it so I have no clue what to expect. I'm shooting for 15-20 rds, but those squat cleans are gonna get awful real fast.

Doctor @ 10am tomorrow, pretty much just me not treating my shoulder well (time to buy a new chair imo). Ton of pain on any dips, pushups, etc. - was a problem after i tore my shoulder in a basketball game - suddenly has resurfaced.

I'm with you on the squat cleans. I'll jerk 165 unbroken until I'm blue in the face but catching/front squatting? Not thank you dealer. They don't even let me drop!

How'd the shoulder appt go?

Turns out I was totally wrong about this wod - the squat cleans were not a problem at all, but my jerks were awful. I got 12 rounds + at least 5 missed jerks. I did 10 in the first 3 minutes and then 2 in the last 2 minutes, so things deteriorated pretty quickly. Sigh I'm terrible overhead.

eta: i just needed to drop under the bar better - for whatever reason when I get tired I drop LESS than when I'm fresh - and since I can't press for shit I can't do some terrible half-jerk + big pressout thing that a lot of the bigger/stronger guys do.

It went well though it's worse than before. I've been subbing some movements - like instead of backsquats yesterday i did fronts because they put no pressure on my shoulder - because no xfit just makes me feel like doing nothing at all. The coaches are pretty good about letting me sub, though I'm really pissed I can't do FGB today.

The doctor taped down my trap so i couldn't fully engage it. Basically I messed it up now constantly overcompensate and put it in a really bad position. I should have gone for a few more sessions the last time I saw her but didn't because I felt fine. I go back Tuesday and will probably go once or twice a week for the immediate future.

It still hurts just all the time which kinda sucks.

After raising my arm to block a shot in basketball it came flying down and I was wincing in pain. I didn't even touch the ball.

I suspended my blackbox membership for the time being. NYSC has a 30 days for $30 I'm going to use to row, run, and do some heavy lifts that don't hurt my shoulder. Stuff like front squats and dead lifts seem fine and I'll be scouring the main site for WoDs I can actually do. Because the blackbox is so crowded it's very less than ideal for doing your own WoD. I already feel like a jerk asking for special treatment every time I go.

It is going to be a sad month but I'll be happy to be back on my 3 on 1 off because I feel gross.

I have been doing modified WoDs on my own for a number of years now, but I am sure that my form is off and I know that I am not pushing myself to do my best. I start up at Crossfit here in Brooklyn in the morning. Looking forward to it.

The difference between doing a wod on your and doing one at a box with a bunch of other people encouraging you is like night and day imo. Enjoy!

Pullups, oddly enough. I dislocated it previously in September training Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Popped out right at the end of the WoD and I felt like I had a pretty good time for my first class too. Popped back in about 10 seconds later. Didn't hurt at all at the time, but it sure hurts right now.

wow @ wod 4. My lolbad flexibility means I probably won't even get to the muscle ups, which is a shame because I can actually do them (well, maybe not after 60 burpees and 30 OHS at 120# haha). They're not fuckin around anymore, that's for sure.
