Quit about 6 weeks in. Went houseboating then to vegas and now just no motivation. But in those 6 weeks I got my first 6 pack ever
Still here and pretty easy to maintain...can only imagine if I finished...
Guys just come to France for the P90X "nutrition and dietary supplement plan". I promise you wont be disappointed by the food ![]()
The first time I only got the first 6 weeks in, then I had to go to Vancouver.
I started again from the beginning when I got back and I'm about to finish week 7 and start week 8 and then on to the final 4 weeks.
I'll probably post before and after pics eventually, but I'm down like 35lbs and definitely in the best shape of my life by far.
I also picked up the Primal Blueprint book after reading one of Vandweller's blogs and I've been going Primal for like 1-2 weeks... ![]()
Hopefully doing another round of P90x maybe doubles this time and the Primal Blueprint can help me get down to like 5-6% body fat, that would be sweet.
I've been sleeping better, and have so much more energy during the day.
I follow Tony Horton's twitter, blog, and facebook because I'm a P90X fanatic now and saw this video.
If it doesn't get you pumped I don't know what will...

I've got Insanity and it is awesome! Very challenging to say the least. I'm not doing the full program yet but plan to start soon. Hope to have some awesome before and afters! Keep up the good work and I hope everyone reaches their goals!
Hey guys
Looking for advice on which of the work out programs to start , P90x or Insanity. Im tall , thin , a smoker and generaly very unfit. I spend 80% of my day sitting down but i did recently start running once/twice a week. Insanity looks good since i dont have any weights or equipment , however i sense i need to build muscle before i can tone it and P90x looks good from that point.
Im really not sure what one to choose ..

I started Insanity a while ago and had to take a break from it for a short time. I have no experience w/ P90X.
I would say that if you want to build muscle, P90X is the clear choice. You will have to purchase some equipment, but not too much from what I hear.
If you want to build your cardio and just sorta tone up like you said, Insanity is the clear choice.
I personally don't care too much about building muscle at this time, plus I really didn't want to buy more stuff. I found Insanity on eBay for like $80 and that's all I had to spend.

Hey Guys -
I'm a little late to the party, but wanted to give my thoughts on the P90x shizzle.
I think it's pretty sick overall if you can stick to it. I made it through the first 60 days and started to notice myself getting in better shape, but unfortunately I couldn't finish because I suffered from an unrelated shoulder injury that derailed my training for a bit.
Regardless, I wanted to share how I incorporate P90x into my workouts now. The only thing I didn't like about P90x was that I felt like it was actually taking away some of my muscle mass. I began the program at ~185 (I'm 6'0), and I was already pretty strong. My goals now are to put on some muscle, get more strength, but also to get more ripped. But I also really enjoy lifting weights, so what I do is 3 days of lifting weights in the gym (mostly drop sets), take a day off, and then do 4 days of P90x, and then take a day off and repeat. I think it's important to just keep doing relatively random workouts and exercises to keep your body guessing, and P90x is pretty damn tough, so I think the likelihood of me doing it for months on end is pretty low. That's why I like only doing it part of the time to keep myself in good cardio shape, while also maximizing my strength training with the weights.

I'm in more or less the same boat, except I'm not really thin (6'2 190), and I'm thinking I'm going to try Power 90 before P90x or Insanity, and I might sprinkle in some weight training after the first couple weeks if I feel like it's lacking in that regard. I'll try to remember to update this thread when I've done a cycle.

I don't think you need to start with Power90... From what I hear it is pretty old and ghetto and outdated and many of the exercises carry over into p90x...
I am the same height and I started at 215-220. I am down to 184 now and much leaner and much more muscular, and was no means in good shape when I started, I was never really much of an athlete, I played sports in High School, but nothing serious and never seriously worked out a day in my life.
I couldn't do a ton of the exercises when I first started, I couldn't even do a pull up. I mean they have a 90 day money-back guarantee, give it 90 days and see what you think. It will definitely be the best $120 you've ever spent IMO, or at the very least far from the worst ![]()

Just get a gym membership, get on starting strength or madcow's 5x5.
I go to the gym every day FWIW, you guys need to do real weights. P90x is great and all but you can't replace heavy deadlifts or bench press.

P90x is real weightlifting. I have a set of Bowflex Selecttech 1090s, I'm pretty sure I can do a variation of every lift from the comfort of my home that you can do in a gym but without the gym membership.
If someone can't get motivated enough to workout at home, they aren't going to go to the gym, that is what I realized about myself anyway...
I find a gym to be a better enviroment. It's like your brain associates it with hard work for me

I totally disagree with this. I do crossfit at our local box 5-6 days/week now, but before it when I was working out on my own at our apt complex's gym (a 200 ft walk away) I'd go 2-3 days max.
