Yes, actually chocolate milk right after working out is good.

But id check out optimum whey and get some additional bcaa's (branch chain amino acids) Forget all the other junk protein stiff that has all kinds of stuff in it I.e muscle milk.

and screw gnc, place is a rip off.

It's funny. Today I spoke to one of the guys at the shop today and got to talking about recovery drinks and p90x. He immediately said, yea I just have some chocolate milk afterwards, lol. Hey, you learn something new every day eh? Thanks for the tip.

I completely agree that you don't need any of that fancy expensive shit to recover from a workout. Chocolate milk should be fine. If you want to add something to it, make a chocolate milk banana smoothie, or mix in strawberries or blueberries or whatever you feel like. You really don't need all that expensive "muscle building" protein shake crap. And some of it has been found to have dangerous amounts of lead or cadmium in it, which is pretty disturbing. Stick to natural stuff. And like a previous poster said, it doesn't even have to be a shake. A decent meal works just as well.

I went through 2 stints of Insanity earlier this year, and dropped over 40 pounds. I'm about half way through P90X now, and it is also a great workout. Weight has fluctuated a bot but not drastically, probably because of the weight gain from deep muscle work and taking creatine again.

As mentioned by others, both workouts are very good, and the intensity level is basically up to the user. But if you have a lot of weight to lose, I think Insanity will cut it faster. While P90X will make more of an actual body change since you're putting on muscle and losing fat simultaneously. Of course diet will play a big part in your success on any program.

I am thinking of this or insanity later in the year.I've dropped about 20 lbs since late june with diet and non high impact exercise.

Anyone know the approximate calorie burn per week on these progs?

Close to 500/day for classic I think, and 1k/day for doubles...

Anyone using bands who is happy with the bands they have? I picked up a set from prosource and didn't know they maxed out at 20. After one week, I've already torn through one of the lighter bands. I've got some heavier dumbells that I've used when I've needed them, but I'd really like a better solution and don't feel like shelling out 400-600 for selectechs, and keeping a set of hex bells around isn't going to work in my city apartment. Sooo... I'd really like a good set of heavier bands, if they exist.

I did P90x last year and got bands for it. I purchased SPRI bands. They work surprisingly well. I was happy with that brand, but I found that I did have to double up on bands for some exercises like pull ups. The bodylastics ones look good as they have built in clips to combine bands. They are a bit more expensive than the SPRI bands I think.

I'm mixing P90X and Insanity with Chiseled show from www.liveexercise.com. If you like bands, have a look there - guys are doing 4 shows every week (live and later archived)using only bands and I find it a lot more entertaining compared to standard DVD that I have to watch over and over again.

I'm not working for them, I'm just a fan for 5 months and lovin' it Smile.

I'd looked at these, but decided to just go with DBs. They look like get good reviews.

I'm using exactly those, but ordered them from http://bodylastics.com/ . There is even bigger version from the same manufacturer which is really crazy - http://www.strengthbands.com/ .

Week 2 in the bag son! Kenpo X today, I freaking love this workout. It's a massive cal burner, at least for me. I could prolly just do the Kenpo and shed the weight.
