Random Fact: I was on a family reunion in Florida, and most of the guys planned this deep sea fishing trip for the day. I hate fishing, but decided to go anyways because it sounded like fun. I mean this should be a million times better than regular fishing right?

So we get there and the captain and first mate seem cool. The first mate is this huge Italian guy with a Brooklyn accent and a ton of tattoos. I liked the tattoos and I didn't really think anything about this guy at first. I mean nothing seemed out of place or anything to me.

So pretty much right from the start, the first mate starts drinking beer. This didn't bother me at all like it did some of my family members. I was thinking he's a huge guy, and he's just drinking cans of beer. His tolerance his probably high. Plus it's a fishing trip. He's not a sherpa guiding us up Everest.

Later in the morning the first mate is becoming super personable and talkative. He starts to really like me and my uncle, and we start asking about his life and whatnot. We get to his tattoos, and he tells us that he got must of his tattoos while in prison.

I like to think of myself as as pretty nonjudgmental and open minded person. If someone says they were in prison, and I'm not interviewing them for a job, I don't really wanna ask what they were in prison for. Especially on a fishing boat in the middle of the ocean and with a huge guy who I've already gotten to like and who has already gotten to like me. I would like nothing more than to not piss him off right now. I change the subject at this point, but fear starts to fill my heart when I later hear my uncle ask, "What were you in prison for?" ^$#%$#%$#^#

Ok, so everyone makes mistakes. I'm expecting to hear him say drunk driving, domestic abuse, hiding a concealed weapon when stopped for speeding. Instead he says he was in prison for killing someone in a fight. Yeah, that's not something I hear everyday. At this point I was experiencing a level of fear I have never before felt in my life. Rational thinking was telling me it's ok, people don't get killed on fishing trips in the middle of the ocean too often. The other part of my brain was freaking out.

To make an already long story shorter, he was in prison for accidentally killing someone in a street fight. I run bad at fishing and I didn't catch a shark or whale or anything. I'm still alive, and recently my life has hit a new high point when I signed up for dc. =)

Stakes you play: Just moved up to 100NLHE FR (way too over-rolled but being very nitty about building a strong strategic foundation). Also learning PLO and used to play lots of FR/SH LHE.

Got pretty good but there's hardly any money in it. Still use internet blitz to blow off steam when on poker tilt (this saves lots of money).

Random Fact: I used to work for a porn company, one of my main tasks was to check that all the links on the websites were working correctly. Before doing this job I never thought that being paid to look at porn all day could be boring.

I lived in Norway for 4 years as a child and used to speak fluent Norwegian, now can't remember any of it.

I broke and dislocated my ankle a few years ago when I fell over on a flat pavement drunk, I then tried to walk on it to get the taxi to the hospital (yes I was very very drunk). Spent a week in hospital to have an operation to put a metal plate in the ankle (I also had concussion).
