yo
i don't know how many irritating opponents anybody else plays against. but i especially dislike:
a) bumhunters
b) short-stackers
can anybody add to this list? it could be opponents who take a specific action which frustrates you a lot like 3 bets your opens when they're on the btn A LOT or a specific playing style
cheers

I generally dislike when people play well and don't piss away their money, but I don't take it too personally because it does seem like a fairly sensible approach to the game. Certainly would be happier if people had more positional unawareness and liked to spew chips more, but fortunately there are still enough such players to make the games profitable.

speaking of this. In live poker I'm really starting to get irritated with people always trying to have a conversation with me. I've even wear headphones and everyone still tries to talk to me. i'm not an asshole so I always end up talking with them here and there. Whats the best way to make someone shut the fuck up and still not hate you? i guess is my question here.

I think it doesnt matter pretty much wether or not they like you because you dont want to talk to them anyway. So just flat out say "i have enough friends douchebag,So talk to the fat sweaty guy in seat 10"
And you should be ok.

These are all wonderful examples of opportunities to improve our own emotional awareness and control. We've no control over the actions of others. Worse still, we're letting other people dictate our own emotional and physical reactions/behaviors. Minimizing our own uncontrolled reactions to stuff like this will increase our ability to focus and keep the poker game going on our terms.
That said, I can't stand know-it-alls at a live game. Dude, seriously, stop throwing around poker buzzwords like 'range', 'implied odds', and 'sklansky bucks'. Best case, people get annoyed and the game goes bad. Worst case, the fish start to pay attention and get uncomfortable, start playing a little better or, worst of all, leave the game!
Arrggh.
*Deep breath* emotional control.

I thought this was a thread on use irritating them for lols and tilt value, but you're the one getting irritaed? o.O okay, I'd like to know what else irritates you, so I can employ it at the tables.

Why would that annoy you?

I prefer not to irritate bad players. I prefer to be the player that they "enjoy" losing money to.
On the otherhand I'll purposely needle and try to tilt decent regs so they quickly request for a table change as soon as they come to my table (a couple do this) although I'm too nice of a guy to pull this off frequently.

If your opponents are bumhunters, what does that make you?
A smart ass?
If you are getting irritated at other players its a good time to stop playing
How about xraising all in and showing the bluff, and then carrying on about how bad your opponent is if they fold.
