Some good concepts early on, but I kinda left after the personality test thing, because I think that I simply know my personality and what I am and how I learn already and don't really need a test to tell me that.
For me everthing has always been very easy both money and life wise(I made university without ever really doing any homework in high school) for all my childhood which has translated into poker that I kinda miss a study menthality.
This I am trying to work on by simply putting in more commitment to studying.

About personality.
Some people who have ADHD. Do you think it's better to stay on the tighter side because its easy to get caught up and just keep going and going?
It seems to me, if you have ADHD, and play such a fast game as on-line poker, it's better for yourself to stick to some tighter guidelines rather then going out of line more like most LAGS do, as somebody with adhd probably has problems with switching gears? (playing loose, and then having to play tighter because the table asks for it)

I'm not surprised by poker players being not very conscientious. We're gamblers. Gambling is inherently impulsive. In addition, while poker requires good discipline, online it also requires relatively (to live poker at least) quick actions and decisions. It's sort of built for the 'bullshit, I call' type impulses.
Also, a question: You avoid using the word 'neurotic'. Why? Is it not the right adjective?
Nice episode, can't wait for more.
looks really promising!
Just curious a little about Paul's study. High winrates were correlated with low neuroticism. In the paper, he mentioned that players with high neuroticism were more likely to play in full ring games. It's harder to have a high winrate in full-ring compared to 6max. Was this taken into consideration?
Cool, I'm an INTJ too. ![]()
Very interesting thoughts on the personality stuff in this video.
ENTP for me Wilt, what would you say that helps/hinders me in my poker career?
Great series concept, PLEASE DONT HOLD ANYTHING BACK!
LOLIMAMASTERMIND. Test is clearly broken.

Intuition is about detecting patterns and anticipating whats to come while sensing focuses on details and facts, right? Intuition (n) seems to have sensing (s) crushed in this example. Would it be fair to assume, given how the list is 11-0 (N vs. S), that it's likely much better to be able to think on the fly and make accurate assumptions quickly than it is to be meticulous with your ideas and systems (reviewing, hand selection, ect...) and possessing a better knowledge of details? If we interchange "sensing" with "hindsight" and "intuition" with "foresight", you can see that the only use for hindsight (sensing) in poker is to help improve your foresight (intuition) since you can't re-play or un-play a hand. This may also be related to the win rate/neurotic pattern in that a more sensing and/or neurotic individual will tend to be more focused on the negative details of the past and will look at facts rather than emerging patterns while a more intuitive and/or non-neurotic individual will take their lessons from the broader strokes of their past bad experiences and use it to shape their future actions without dwelling on the painful details (causing tilt and aversion to playing)or becoming overly rigid and predictable. In other words, It's -ev to be sensitive and/or neurotic in poker.
Wow, I can't believe how smart I am! This post was way too good to be for free. Attn post-reader: send 10$ to Bazman76 on ps or I will be forced use my uber-mind to crush you!
Need to watch the Vanessa videos TYTY
Just today this was linked on 2p2, results of a survey on personality types with online poker players, compared against their actually playing statistics:
http://www.fifthidea.com/personality/
One interesting conclusion was that those who self-reported themselves as 'aggressive' had a statistically significant reverse correlation with postflop aggression. Also full-ring players are more neurotic than 6max.
