Cash Poker, The Ultimate Gamble has some model as host, Poker After Dark obv has Leanne Tweeden as the floor talent, and now High Stakes has Kara Scott- a friend said to me that one of the things he liked about HSP was the fact that they had never resorted to hiring some bimbo/eye candy for the all male audience, and I kinda agree-it's just not necessary. If it ain't broke, don't fix it!

I watched for like 5 minuts and I just couldn't take it anymore without AJ

Are you watching HSP only for the commentary or what? Wink We shall be all happy to have a show like that on air

I liked AJ. I felt really bad for the guy after reading this:

Oh man I didn't know he got dropped for Kara Scott... That blows.

True, my blanket statement is unfair on her, but it's hardly as if they're picking her brains for poker insight.

The interviews, at least in the first episode, were a total waste of air time (with the one exception of "Phil Hellmuth is tall!"). At first I thought they wanted to copy Poker After Dark, which would have at least added some life to the interviews, but this canned stuff recorded after the session just sucked.

AJ nailed it in his blog. Don't change the topping on your pizza when it's the best selling pizza in town.

Am I the only person who couldn't stand AJ. I also can't stand Gabe....just my opinion.

GSN stated that they had record view ratings for this season, so it doesn't look good for AJ.

The show is great. And people like us are obviously tuning in to watch the poker, and not AJ or Kara but I do think the show was better with AJ on it because as he stated on the link that tubasteve posted he was the straight man for Gabe and while I think Gabe is funny I think his stuff works better when it plays off of somebody. I actually believe that since Kara isn't in the "booth" that there is room for all 3 of them and she could still do interviews but that may not have been in the budget..who knows?

And since this thread was originally about Hellmuth's cash game, I'll comment about that: It was hilarious to see him lose it (his stack and his mind) on Poker After Dark these past two weeks. When will he realize that he is the mark at the table everytime he plays these televised cash games?

I agree - hilarious. But he will NEVER realize he's the mark. That's what makes him so much fun to watch. He is in total denial. He thinks he's the best in the world and he actually believes it.

Leeann Tweeden FTW IMO. She clearly has no clue what she is asking or what the responses mean in the interviews, but I couldn't care less - I could watch her all day.

+1 to Leeann Tweeden for basically laughing along with the rest of the table at Hellmuth while interviewing him and even having Todd Brunson calling her out on it.
