I bought my GF a lightbox alarm clock a couple years ago when she was living in Finland and struggling with the dark mornings.

It's a much less stressful way to wake up and we still use it.

Those are a lot of awesome alarm clocks! I don't know if I'd hate them any less though Poke Tongue

Best alarm clock ever.
(altho I think this might make you want to kill yourself even more)

If anyone else has a video game-playing gf who also has a Wii, they may want to look into the newest Mario Bros. game. It's a classic 2d side-scroller and up to 4 people can play it simultaneously.

heh - not so subtle hint for me to get in the thread. Smile

Heh, my husband made a deal with me - I could open it if I stopped jumping up and down incessantly yelling "wutizitwutizitwutizitwutizit?!" I also let him "open" his present of old school Super Mario World - he's already beaten the first castle so...

This was such a good trade by me.

I'd suggest a panini machine. It's the single most used appliance we own aside from the fridge, is easy to use and clean, and makes sandwiches a whole lot tastier.

Got a panini machine you like or would recommend?

I would use this to slowly wake to 'Riders on the Storm' (the perfect tune to wake to imo) while in Kobenhaven. This thing has a ton of features and is very handy imo.

Does anyone know anything about Roku?

http://www.roku.com/

No first-hand experience with it, but wouldn't a 360/PS3 do the same thing w/ Netflix while also being a 360/PS3?

Yes. Also there are stand alone blu-ray players that can do this as well, if you want to spend less than the cost of a PS3 or 360. Also some TV models but that's not near as reasonable.

I know they are bringing it to PS3 or already have. I have a 360 and just streamed King of Kong the other week along w/ some MST3k Wink Bye bye blockbuster!

Yeah, PS3 does it for free, you just have to get a disc mailed to you from Netflix. 360 does it through the firmware (I believe) but you have to have a Live subscription if you don't already.
