It's also the only topic in the thread that is even worth talking about.

I couldn't agree more with OP. Also, another important point in the original thread needs to be addressed: tubasteve is wrong, The IT Crowd just isn't funny.

if you don't think its funny, then you probably just aren't geeky enough. humor is subjective. i don't think the rush hour movies are funny at all but they made millions of dollars, go figure.

I hate the IT crowd. The stiff, forced, overly rehearsed looking acting is terrible.

This is true, but doesn't necessarily mean that it's funny, more that most American sitcoms are pure garbage Frown.

The IT Crowd isn't totally unfunny, I'll admit it has its moments. I guess I'm just a little disappointed that out of all the fantastic comedy we've produced this side of the pond you picked the IT Crowd out as a highlight.

Yeah, exactly. The IT crowd has its moments but they're few and far between.

I thought the Young Ones was excellent but I was about 8 when I used to watch it, not sure how well it has aged.

I restate my position from the other thread.

No character in the UK Office didn't make me want to set myself, or, preferably, them, on fire.

It was more focused and concise though, I'll give it that.

That's the whole point! They're all total pricks.

I don't know how to really describe it, but the US Office is way too "americanised". The characters in the UK Office were true to life, you could relate them to people you know and realise that you know people just like some of that characters, whereas the US Office characters are just parodies and unrealistic.

Oh, I know it was deliberate, and I do respect that. I just... well, I have enough hate for my fellow man already, you know? Smile
