I am considering filing US taxes as a professional this year. I know you can deduct expenses such as training from your taxes as necessary expenses. After receiving a coaching session, should I ask the coach for some kind of invoice? Some ppl don't seem to want to do this, but I don't think it would be acceptable for me to just make something up. Advice please?

Thank you.

I'm an absolute noob, so this is just a thought: If you're paying via site transfer, could your transaction history perhaps serve as a form of documentation for these services (assuming they won't give you a receipt)?

keep a log of your coaching hours and keep the emails from FTP or paypal or however you paid the coach. Use those as your receipts. I used to deduct these expenses when I got coaching from krantz and flawless.
