OMFG. This thread takes a dangerous turn ... do we want to discuss about what happened to the Indians next?!
It's a good question though IMO.
I don't really care what you think.

Yeah this is pretty much what I'd choose... that way I can take out potential home invaders while they're still more than a mile away. I don't even get my windows broken that way. Win. ![]()
Exactly. For all the paranoid americans.. Just open a window a little bit, watch the wind and pop anybody that looks remotely dangerous for your pretty television

Whatever ...
Had you ever heard of the Stanford Experiment? Do you know "The Third Wave - Take as Directed"? Or the film which was produced around that novel?
So, even if it actually should be a "good question" you´re too late to ask it.
PS: And finally - "I don't really care what you think." is obv. an indicator for a really friendly guy, esp. in an online forum, which is built around people exchanging their views. Hats off, mate.
The Stanford Experiment?
I think everyone should familiarise themselves with this. It's very interesting.
Remember in Ghostbusters 2 when they had that slime that made everyone angry and argue with each other? That's made of the same stuff as gun debates.
The only pistol I have is a Sig Sauer .45 but I also have several shotguns and rifles.

You're the one who needed to say 'OMFG' 'mate'.
My point was going to be that most Germans would have been horrified at what their country was doing, yet they could do fuck all about it, much like the Americans and the British right now invading the middle east and killing millions of innocent people.
The only difference was Hitler was open in what he wanted to achieve.

BTW, I do not own any of these for any intention related to "paranoia" or anything else related to using them against people. Their potential to be used for protection is merely an added benefit imo.

There are a lot of differences between the prevailing social and political situation in WWII Europe, and the present day debacle going on in the Middle East. They're both shitstorms of human stupidity, but beyond that they're pretty different.
I wonder if you guys that actually have guns in your home, actually plan to shoot a potential thief if it would ever invade your home.
Absolutely.

Also this is something i luckely never have to think about, Netherlands is nice and peacefullwith one of the lowests guns/capita ratio.
The problem is humans (especially criminals) take advantage of their circumstances. So someone might start off as a thief, but then he sees your nubile 16 year old daughter sleeping in her panties and all of a sudden he's a rapist. The question answers itself.

OK, come on - let´s be friends again and have a beer, ok? Leaving "our" guns at home. ![]()

It is interesting that the extended hand (handshake) came about
as a way to demonstrate that "I am unarmed".
The bow was a way of showing submission and giving vulnerability to the other person who had a sword(short explanation).
