Damn love this line up, these episodes have been so much fun! Always a pleasure to see Hellmuth in agony and a young internet pro like Dani dominate the table ![]()
O got series one episode 4 - is this the right one?
I enjoyed watching this week's show -- hadn't really followed it much until just now (I had it confused with the Million Dollar Challenge until I flipped through to it last week and saw mastrblastr playing 6m cash). It was entertaining to see how locked-in Hellmuth became on Ansky despite him rarely being out of line. Also interesting to see how, despite it not being his game, Negreanu seems to have a better understanding/feel for the way NLHE has changed.
Incidentally, I was trying to figure out why DN said Ansky couldn't have AJ there, and I wasn't coming up with much apart from the likelihood (near-certainty?) that he wouldn't be betting the flop when checked to there.

I can't wait to see what kind of gold plated diamond encrusted anaconda skin tiger hide pimp sneakers Dani decides to buy after this win.

AJ could be a bet there on the flop vs many players but not vs
ph. He is like the king of "turn your hand face up scared to inflate the pot without a nutted hand" pot control. He prob checks hands as strong as AA and AK some percentage and might even "trap" sets and 2pair there some because those Internet kids are so crazy!
WOW! Ansky pwnz0rz PH. Hats off to ya.
Anyone else really suprised at how Mercier and Pralad both misplay AKs vs JJ preflop and postflop? 4bet is significantly too big imo, not shoving JJ pre is a pretty big mistake esp since the 4bet is so big and stacks are not deep, and then the cbet of mercier is too big for sure postflop as well (if he should cbet in the first place).

yea i was pretty surprised by all of those things. seems like a really crummy spot to cbet until we see prah tank with JJ there. Unless it was an act, if he's not happy to get it in there then perhaps the AK cbet w/ the intention of barreling isn't as bad.

I though post flop was a little spewy but if I recall correctly he 4b ~2.5x oop and cbet the same size (~25k) in a straddled pot with an intention to call it off (based on his thought process)..
How are you guys playing AK there? I would have 4b the same size, but is a cb against Pralad correct?

Yeah I was thinking it was something along those lines, but I appreciate having my thoughts confirmed by the man who once caused PH to curl up into a fetal ball on his living room floor. ![]()
