Build some support sentries and/or immortals. They are both great vs roaches.
for some reason i cant ever get a decent amount of immortals out unless i can forge fast expand on the map
hey so i love this game, currently 12th rank in bronze league, and wanna know a good counter to massive roach f*ck off attacks pvz. good thing most people in bronze only do a zergling rush and dont know how to transition after that. this seems to be the hardest think to counter. immortals are kinda pricey to pump, and colossius is too weak, and meat shields get screwed by them. but i dont wanna go all or nothing in air, plus void rays tend to suck against zerg in big attacks, only decent to try and slip behind and fag there drones
12 gate, chrono zealot(s) against lings, cybernetics asap for sentry+stalker, forcefielding your ramp if he goes for some allin cheese.
3 gate+robo should be pretty solid. Scout for expo... go for some harass while you expo yourself. colossus against hydra/ling, immortals against roaches and blink stalkers do quite nicely against mutas.
Macro is really important against zerg because they can mass units so easily... sitting on a ton of minerals is a quite common mistake for new players (im still doing this every now and then... i've only played wc3 where its mostly micro and not much macro unlike in sc2). Building 2 more gates is ok if you're having trouble keeping the warp gates on cooldown all the time...

thats mostly what i try to do (sometimes i just pump zealots none stop against an all in ling cheese bc they defeat them easily and i can counter easily from that). I think my biggest problem os not managing the build to tech while i am trying to hold on and pump a lot of units
struggling in gold league right now.
I haven't been playing as much as I want (I haven't even bother laddering) cause the performance issues with the mac version and nvidia graphic cards. Hope there will be an update soon cause I really don't want to install and run windows through boot camp.
As for playing protoss the 4 gate proxy pylon build is by far the easiest way to beat more skilled players, especially against zerg players. Took me from bronze to gold in beta with pretty much no effort.
DC SC2 tournament go go go!
Pretty sure I wouldn't make it too far, but I am fairly decent and would play in a DC tourney as well.
Being the guildleader of one of the top 3 Everquest guilds (nerd alert), in years gone past, I used to frequent www.fohguild.org often; as their guildleader (Furor), was an online buddy of mine from cross server chat channels. Their website was probably the most visited EQ site, and it's still going strong with the current crop of games.
Try their forums. I know they're heavily into SC2 now, as Furor eventually became a developer for Blizzard's other monster - World of Warcraft.
ah I remember the days of fires of heaven. I kinda miss EQ and WoW a little in that sort of unknown exploration way, but it just got to be too much. Esp WoW
Yeah never got in to WoW. The thrill in EQ was that we were shooting for worldwide firsts and, well, I was the best equipped character in the world ;p Sold him for 4k USD in the end, as the commitment required to stay at the top was just too much. I just couldn't allocate the amount of time required anymore.
Nice, yea I was in a WOW guild called In Excelsis for a while, we had many server firsts, especially when black wing lair was released. That was really fun but it turned into a part time job and I just wasn't looking for that. Anyway, back to the SC2 chat!
I'm down for DC sc2 tourney,
btw if you guys havent seen liquidTLO's placement matches they are amazing.

we should get a DC sc2 tourney going at some point.

9 pylon 12 gate is working wonders in the bronze league. i always have money! its amazing! its so much easier to deal with aggression when you can keep building any unit.
I'm very interested in Starcraft II, please answer some more questions. What type of training do the top players do for Starcraft II? I guess they play, review their replays, get comments on their replays from forums/Skype groups/peers/coaches, and respond to other people's replays, etc? What software do they use? Are there strategy guides?
What are the main communities besides Battle.net, Teamliquid, and 2p2? What else do they? Are there video training sites and coaching? What are some sites I should look into for Starcraft II strategies and communities? Thanks, Yojimgari
