Hey guys,

My AIM was hacked. Please do not send this person any money.

Also, please PM me the name of any accounts he is asking for money at so I can notify FTP and Stars.

Most importantly, PLEASE report it to AIM if you have a conversation with him.

Thanks,
Vanessa

Nah, ZeeJustin's hacked account was talking to me yesterday. He asked if my email was vanessaselbst@gmail before asking anything. I just said "[email address]" and then like 20 second later figured out it was a hacker. I guess somehow knowing my email address was enough...?

That sucks. I don't know how these douches actually come up with passwords, but on many poker videos from various coaching sites, AIM windows/browsers whatnot keep popping up onto screen with AIM names showing, and are not edited out.

whats up with this messenger hacks? (see other topic that skype account was hacked from some other DC guy)

they dont seem very safe....

A lil more than a year ago my neteller was hacked for a couple k which i had in there (I fortunatly got it back from neteller tho). At that time my system wasnt that good secured and I was stupid to leave my neteller details in my freemail account from which they probably got them... but to be honest I also suspect my messenger got hacked or something because this all happened shortly after I installed mirinda im and created accounts for all major messenger networks. (100% sure i didnt have any trojans or something on my system, so either my email was hacked by brute force or something or it was the messenger..)

E-mail seems to be the popular form of entry; I guess they figured out that most people keep lots of information contained in emails, so if they can keylog into your email account they can gain access to whatever you're into/figure out where you keep the $$$ obv. Stars has taken precautions against them gaining entry into your poker accounts even containing identical passwords with their older pin # system and newer RSN security tokens. I highly recommend it to everyone who keeps money that they care about on pokerstars.

GL with any damage reparations necessary. F hackerz imo.

^^ this ^^

If i had the FPP to order that token i would definatly do, but even w/o such token stars seems to be the best place to store online money. They actually care about their customer safety more than most banks do it seems.

And also delete all sensetive emails you have.. or at least make sure they are not stored on your server.

I now use different passwords for everything, thats also a must.

Anyone had experience with the Pokerstars security token?

I think this is a bit cheap of them not to give this free to Supernovas, it's kinda expensive for something that should be provided by Pokerstars in my opinion.

I've been using it for a few weeks now, it works fine. I've used tokens just like this for work as well, so I've got a little collection of them. Stars isn't making much if any profit off these things, they have a cost. I don't see how it's reasonable to ask for them for free.

Well I'm a volume player, so I'd hope for this sort of thing as a freebie.

I'll probably order one anyway. I am aware they are selling it at cost, so I do sympathise.

Someone said in another forum that they now offer the same token for World of Warcraft to protect player's accounts from hackers and it only cost about $10-$15. I didn't bother to see if this claim is true, though.

Wow, and PS's token costs 6000 FPPs which is a $96 value at $0.016/FPP.
