DC.For some time I had been looking for a site where I could watch some videos of other winning players play poker just to gain some insight and see things that i had never seen. I looked at both DC and CR and after so research I came to the conclusion that DC>CR. Anyway, last week after registering I watched a bit of SSNL disease and then came across Vandwellers series with Veloblank. I was a big losing player at the time but I made money playing with friends etc.
Anyway last friday I made a 30 dollar deposit and began grinding 2.25 turbos. I was making profit and took a shot at a 1.10 rebuy tourney and won that and made 2 more top 3 finishes in the same week. So after a week my roll is at 600. Im sure you guys hear this all the time, but really really thanks to all the members that take the time to make the informative videos because it helped me fix my game up tremendously. I've also recommended you guys to a few friends of mine who might even sign up. Anyway, just a few questions I have for the SnG grinders. When would you suggest I move up to playing the 10+1 or 11+1 sngs and do you have any tips as far as the game goes. Should I play them the same way I play my 6.50s or are there some key things to look for.

You should have perhaps posted to Tournament Poker forum.
I think adjacent buyin levels play pretty similarly. There's not a lot of difference between 6.50s and 12s. I would play longer in 6.50s, at least a time where you have established yourself on that level and move up from there. It's probably the cheapest real level to learn playing SNGs on.
I see you have played only 500 tournaments in total, which is not that much. Long run in tournament poker is longer than you might expect. I'm sure that you have learned a lot and are a much better player right now, but winning and final tabling 20 table tournaments takes luck as well. My three suggestions would be: post a lot of hands on tournament poker, take active part in discussion (responding to other's posts helps your own game as well) and study your game on SNG Wiz.

Great to see such good results. Like JtX said make sure you're putting in volume to make sure your results normalize.
I was the same when I started. I was playing micro regular speed SNGs and experienced great results, over some pretty soft play. When I moved to the 6.50 turboes I was not at all ready for the turbo structure, the number of players left at high blinds, etc. Plus, I ran so badly on my first try. From their I sulked around the 3's again, and then moved sites.
Recently I just came back to Stars after a good run at the 11's on UB. Already I'm uncovering problems still in my game: mentality, preparation, post-game study, volume. It's a good thing I decided to do the 3.40 turboes again. It's a pretty cheap way to learn lessons atm. I'd suggest the same for you, wherever you play. Make sure you are understanding ICM, can deal with the grind when you run bad, etc. A good idea of your familiarity with a level is after about 1500 games or so.
If you have any questions you can check out the Tournament Forum.

Welcome to DC and good luck!
The same concepts apply to all levels of SNGs, the differences between the levels is how many opponents know these concepts, how well they execute them, and how we ought to adjust to them. Your best path is to post specific hands and questions in the SNG/MTT forum (all the way at the bottom of the main forum page where the cool kids hang out).
As far as when to move up and down, the answer differs for each person, but I would say you are ready for a new level when losing 20-30 BIs at that level won't really affect you financially or affect the quality of your play. However, there's nothing wrong with staying over-rolled at a level you're having success at for a while so you can establish a long track record and figure out all the proper adjustments.

Thanks for the help Velo and Van. Unfortuanetly I began to run really really bad and of course tilt happened. I wasnt able to control it and I did the one thing I said I would not do. I played a high stake super turbo sng. It was brutal to say the least and after it my BR was decimated. I was left @ 350 pretty much down 250. Last night though I made 2 final table appearances in two 8.80 tourneys and cashed in the Daily Double so my roll is back up to what it once was, only about 70 short.
Anyway Im having great success in MTTs as of late and I'll be returning to grinding the 6.50s soon. The only problem is that when I am playing an MTT I don't like playing SNGs, it throws my game off so I have very little time for them.
Current Roll : 535
